Characters: River Song (
spoilersss))
Setting/Location: The Meadow
Date & Time: Day 20, Twilight
Warnings: Possible danger
Summary: River Song and the Doctor have some catching up to do and decide to see if 'snapping up' is an appropriate term for any possible danger.
There wasn't much to keep River occupied and her curiosity satisfied for long, though she had to admit this world was doing its best. Sword-fighting competitions, turning into a mermaid - all where things she'd never done before and was happy to experience, but they never lasted for as long as she'd liked them to - except for the sickness. It would figure - 51st century woman brought low by a virus from 20th century Earth. Her immune system was supposed to have been better than that. But the Meadow and the warning of possible danger was just enough familiarity and thrill that she couldn't resist, even when on the mend.
She'd sent a message to the Doctor - psychic paper - betting that since the here-and-now him was closest in proximity to any other Doctor at any other point in time, he'd get it. It was simple: Meet me in the Meadow at Twilight with no signature and no way to get back to her if he wasn't going to come. And he was going to come, because he'd never let her down yet and - even though it was still early for him, River saw no indication that he was going to start anytime soon. She just counted herself lucky that it was baby-face this time around. He was, after all, one of her favorites.
River, after finding a spare change of clothes she'd found somewhere that didn't reek of prison and fashioned something akin to a belt to shove her blaster in, made her way out of the Caravan and towards the Meadow. A bit earlier than the generally given time but appearances were everything - she wasn't about to let the Doctor take away her upper hand.
Not yet, at any rate.
