Serah grinned, her thoughts straying casually Lightning’s way. She wondered what her sister was doing right about now. ...Besides wearing down the floor. “I want to know how you did it. She doesn’t change her mind about anyone or anything that easily. Once, it took me months just to-” Whatever else Serah was going to say was cut laughably short as soon as Snow directed her attention over the nearby window. She followed his outstretched hand, eyes widening.

They really weren’t in Cocoon anymore, were they?

"You’re kidding!” she exclaimed, her voice halfway between a suppressed shout and a laugh. She released Snow's hand and sprinted over to the window. That had to be the caravan. It couldn’t be anything else. No way. Serah had never seen anything like it before. She could only stare in amazement at its impossibly tall towers and gape at the behemoth of a creature that stood beside it. Grandore, undoubtedly. “We’re going to ride in that? But it’s huge. He’s huge.”

Serah had visited the Sunleth Waterscape a few times during her childhood on school-sponsored excursions, but none of the monsters she had seen there could even come close to rivaling the giant in terms of height and weight. Never mind the caravan itself, which was nearly as tall as Grandore was. She was sure Eden had buildings that rivaled or exceeded the caravan in height, of course, but all that Bodhum had to offer that even came close to the caravan was the Vestige, and it was still nothing like this.

"I can't believe we're going to be traveling in that." It had only taken one look; Serah was all ready longing to explore it. It brought back memories of the time Lightning had first taken her to see the the strange ruins and the Pulse Vestige. She had experienced a similar feeling then. It wasn't quite the same, of course: it lacked the childish amazement and awe that had left such an imprint on her younger self, but it was more than enough to burn the moment into her memory. It would definitely take more than just a few days to explore it all. "...I bet we'll never see anything like it on Cocoon."
