the man in blue has arrived

May 27, 2010 16:47

Characters: X (kickasspacifist) and Diana (veracitatem)
Setting/Location: Diana's room.
Date & Time: Day 0, evening.
Warnings: Light bondage, oh snap.
Summary: Diana totally hasn't tied enough people up today. X still can't get his brain around the idea of ~*~magic~*~. Clearly there is only one solution.

It wasn't that X didn't trust Diana. His first impression of her had been positive, and she struck him as a woman of high integrity. If she said she could be certain that Cid Amon was telling the truth, X was fairly sure that this indeed meant they could trust the man -- but there was a massive gulf between hearing that magic was possible and acknowledging that it was probably true, and seeing it for oneself and fully accepting it as the truth.

And he had wanted to meet her, anyway. Her interest and initiative in pulling together some kind of arrangement to protect the civilians among them marked her as the kind of person X was sure to respect; her warm manner of conduct as she did so marked her as someone he felt was sure to not only respect, but to like (which years of dealing with Hunters and government alike had taught him did not always, or even often, go hand in hand).

So that evening found him approaching her door, clanking footsteps echoing in the hallway. He'd been able to get a change of clothes before boarding the caravan, but this was business, of a sort, and so for now, the armor stayed on.

She'd been adamant that any time was fine, but there had been others who would've wanted to speak to her as well, X was sure. Hopefully he'd timed it well enough not to be intruding on another meeting.

He raised his hand and knocked on the door.
