As they had gotten into the groove of interviewing the confused people of Sleepywoods, Dojima relaxed his mental grip on Adachi by degrees. There was only so long he could hold the level of intense emotion he felt when he first saw Adachi casually talking to his nephew as if nothing had happened. Adachi was a threat, and he still didn't fully understand his motives or M.O., but he didn't think Adachi'd suddenly whip out his gun and start mowing people down

That was an easy enough search.

Adachi waits for a moment before turning to him, kneeling down and rubbing his toe through his shoe - you'd think the natives of this place would have more common sense, and not leave their racks out in the middle of street. (No, it never occurs to Adachi that maybe he should watch where he's going, despite Dojima's scolding.)

He finally stands up and turns to him wearing that sheepish grin.

"Sorry, sir, it came out of nowhere."

"There's a lot of crazy stuff going on here, but moving racks aren't one of them." Yet.

"You get any good intel?"

Adachi's eyes narrow slightly and he jabs his thumb in the opposite direction, indicating their next rendezvous point.

"Sure did," he says coolly. "Her name's Mari Mochizuki and she's a nurse from Japan. If anything, she's got a good head on her shoulders. I told her you'd come meet her."

For all the suspicion Dojima has for Adachi right now, it doesn't occur to him that he's being set up a bit here. He's too focused on Adachi and the current situation to think about how his behavior seems to his (ex-)partner. He begins moving towards the rendezvous, trusting Adachi just enough to move when he moves, though not letting Adachi get behind him.

"Japan? Hmm... people've been coming in from all over, but nobody's had any trouble understanding us yet... odd..." Half of that was mostly him thinking out loud.

"...Huh. I hadn't really thought of that, but you're right." So far, Adachi had only communicated with the kids and a couple of other folks from Japan, but it hadn't occurred to him until just now that he could easily comprehend the words of people around him, including the natives and guys that looked like they'd never spoken nor heard a word of Japanese in their lives. It's a daunting thought.

He leads him towards the village square in the distance, squinting and looking for a young lady in a white coat with a bag.

"Have you met anyone interesting yet?" he asks from over his shoulder.

"Lot of interesting characters walking around. Met a few kids who thought they could do magic. Though after waking up here, I don't blame 'em." And he almost wants to believe them.

Dojima pauses, then lets a heavy sigh go. "Nobody's really seen Nanako around... I'm hoping that's a good thing..."

Damn, way to be depressing. Adachi crosses his arms over his chest out of instinct, as if the mere thought of Nanako being around is making him uncomfortable. He's not sure how much longer he can avoid the topic, but now doesn't seem like a good time to say, "Sir, it's definitely a good thing that your daughter isn't a zombie."

Luckily, he gets a free out for now when he spots who must be Mari Mochizuki - a fairly attractive woman, maybe a few years younger than Adachi himself. Out of reflex, he straightens up as he approaches.

"Mari Mochizuki, by any chance?"

Adachi grins, silently hoping he's not approaching the wrong lady in a white coat.

She perks up instinctively. While Mari knew she had been fairly forward with her personal information, she recognized that voice from their conversation earlier. Besides, if she didn't remember a client, then what kind of nurse would she be?

"Mr. Adachi? It's nice to meet you in person." Mari smiles, bowing the slightest in respect. Offhandedly, she takes notice of the figure following close behind. "And I assume this is Mr. Dojima?"

He nods and yanks Dojima forward, gently, by the arm.

"Yeah, that's him. Nice to meet you too."

Dojima yanks his arm, not quite as gently, out of Adachi's grasp with a reproving frown.

"Miss Mochizuki." Dojima nods his greeting. "Hope my partner hasn't been giving you too much trouble."

Mari chuckles at their antics. Laughter had been far too scarce in her own Japan, so the change in pace was comforting, to say the least (Naoya's occasional bouts were the opposite, in fact).

"Oh, nothing of the sort!" Mari smiles as a means of reassurance. "I'm offering my assistance for free, after all... I could never think of it as a burden, Mr. Dojima."

Though, the same was true for all of her medical endeavors.

Adachi glances at Dojima and chuckles, a slight nervous shake in his laugh. "C-C'mon, sir, don't be like that..."

Of course, Adachi had never mentioned anything about "assistance" to Dojima - just that they were going to chat. He bites his bottom lip before sidestepping to put a little distance between them and says, "Uhhhh, I kinda asked Miss Mochizuki to take a look at you, since she's a nurse - since you've been acting funny, a-and you're supposed to still be in the hospital..."

"Assista-" Dojima had started, but stopped as Adachi began explaining. It was definitely one of Adachi's better ideas to get out of Dojima's immediate reach; he raises his hand, but without an easy target, he just pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs deeply.

"Adachi, I'm fine. Do I look like I belong in the hospital to you? Acting funny... this whole damn situation's funny! Hmph..."

Grumping complete, Dojima turns to address the nurse again. "Sorry about all this. You've got better things to do than look after people who aren't even sick. My partner's just confused. I don't know if you've noticed yet, but a lot of us seem to be from different times as well as places. It's been months since I got out of the hospital."
