Don't do this, Aion. Shut yourself down. I know you have been following me.

Confront me, instead. I am not bothered by your actions.

Heh, as expected of you. Though it has nothing to do with fear. They're simply precautions of the possibilities ahead. Too many miscalculations have been made as it is.

I remember the look in your face that day. Don't say it isn't fear, I won't believe you.

Can I see you? You have been distant and I have been busy.

What you believe is your business.

I've been the same and why are you asking? You already know where to find me. I'll be home around the same time as usual.

I don't want to startle you. This is why I ask. I will be home in an hour.

[In retrospect, she shouldn't be surprised. It was the usual way they avoided talking of what bothered them. He was distant and pretending everything was alright while his actions said otherwise while she threw herself to work, took double shifts and used the crisis as an excuse to analyze her mood.

That day, she could have died, he could have killed him and they both would have lost something to their mutual enemies. Lilith felt more uneasy than she admitted at the idea of death after the day passed. The consequences to her plans, to Abel, to everything. And to Aion, too.

She didn't blame him for his reaction and recklessness. Unlike Chrono, she knew what it was to take a choice to damn your own comrade to certain doom when they were possessed by a foe. She knew the pain and the anger. She had seen 01 pretending to be Cain, smiling with them as nothing was amiss before she had declared them her enemies ( ... )

[Aion knew this was to be expected sooner or later. It was always expected from her. Lilith had a habit of getting under his skin though he had to admit, it was partially his fault for allowing it. She made him uneasy, anxious, something he normally didn't feel. Thinking back to all the curses, he began to realize that subconsciously he was associating Lilith with her. Though he knew he couldn't let that get to him. Not now. Not when he needed to concentrate on his goal the most.

An aggravated sigh escaped him as he stared out his window. The snow didn't help his mood. Did those bastards know? This was becoming more of a problem than he imagined. Sensing his eagle returning, the sinner stood up from his chair and walked out his room. Making his way to the entrance of the Cathedral, he held his arm out to retrieve it as his cold eyes darted towards the woman coming closer.]

[Lilith stopped when she spotted him. Him and the eagle. She was still dressed as a doctor, lately when she wore the white lab coat she felt as if she was playing a role of a play, but she dismissed that sensation. She knew what she was raised to become wasn't what she was, deep inside, and that mildly disturbed her.

The Saint returned the Sinner's cold look with a serene one. She wasn't moved by his glowering, knowing he likely did that to bury deeper feelings within. Like...

She didn't continue that trail of thought, instead she greeted him, without smiling as she made her way into the halls.]

We should speak inside.

[He gave the bird a pet before releasing it again to soar the skies. Aion adjusted his glasses as he agreed with a deadpan voice.]

I'm glad we agree.

[He followed her down the hall as he watched the figure elegantly walk before him. The sinner didn't like the feeling as if he was to be scolded for something once they make it to their destination. He already said enough as it is on top of what she's seen herself. What else did she want? An amusement before her death?]

[She guided him to the inner garden, taking a seat around the small round table next to her flowers. She made a short pause, before she apologized.]

I am sorry, Aion. I upset you, didn't I?

[Her features softened.]

After what happened during that, what you needed the most was reassurance that there were no side effects and I chose to take more hours...

[Aion followed suit as he also took a seat across from her, his eyes never leaving hers. His expression didn't change even after her apology though he was dumbfounded to it all. Just what was she apologizing for? It was clear that it was a curse implemented by the deities. The rest were all precautions he knew he had to take in case they had other plans for him. If somehow reminiscences of her was still there.]

Don't get me wrong. You should be more concerned of yourself instead of giving me your damn sympathy. This doesn't change the fact that I'll still kill you if I see any traces of her in you, even you, Lilith. You have your own dream you can't give up as I do, don't you? Focus on that.

[Aion adjusted his glasses again as he tried to wrap it up. He didn't want to be here in the spot light. She played his mind one too many times already in the past. Someone he's never encountered before. Someone he didn't know how to handle well for whatever reason.]

If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave.

You can't kill me now. Only one of us can do that.

[After waiting his response, Lilith decided to confess this. She wanted him to know with this information that she still trusted him, despite of all, she still did. She didn't like the level of comfort she had built either, but she cannot ignore that is there.]

Please stay. I'm not apologizing for what the curse did or Pandemonium did.

[It was what she did. She knew it made him uneasy because of the state of their friendship, she felt the same. She knew what he must have been going through.]

I wouldn't mind to be killed if something possessed my will and there is no turning back, Aion, I would do the same for you. Unlike Chrono, I understand.
