I liked that Cap icon too but I didn't submit it because I thought the big texture =/= negative space. (But we are back to that whole liking alts better than submissions... which I agree with a lot of the times, haha. I'm awful at choosing from my own icons because I get attached to ideas.)
The pose is all good cap timing, ha. I am not sure if I have the psd around but I'm pretty sure that apart from my base coloring (which is a whole psd I play around all the time), there were many gradients on top. The background is either a bird of butterfly texture I saw around -- most of the textures I use are from LJ inspo post for challenges so this one has to be a spring one -- but inverted. (The original texture is black butterflies on white, which didn't look so good.) I usually struggle choosing textures but something about this just came together nicely :D
I love seeing what other people do with hair porn because it is so original! But I like just doing subtle hair painting and highlighting what's already there with crops. What they do is fun but it never quite looks right to me. (Even if hair painting with a weird color is my unnatural coloring go-to, haha.)
