General Update

So I'm at work, with several hours of downtime ahead of me, so I thought now was as good a time as ever to give a quick update as to what's going on in my life.

*I'm still working at WSIL, but instead of being a Newsbitch, I'm a Master Control Operator and Fill-In Photog.
Wednesdays and Thursdays, I work in News.  I go and shoot footage of whatever they tell me to, chop it up into little clips, and write the story a little bit.  It's awesome work, and it lets me be creative and have fun working.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I work in Master Control.  I make sure that everything that the station airs plays to our region.  Thats our Newscasts, syndicated shows like Seinfeld or Law & Order, and stuff that ABC airs all over the country, like Desperate Housewives, Wipeout, World News with Charlie Gibson, etc.  In addition to that, I have to make sure that everything we get in a raw uncut format gets chopped up into little digestible bits.  This is where I get all my downtime, and it's nice to be able to relax for a while while still getting paid to do something I love.

*I'm away from the House From Hell, and in my own place.  It's kind of small, and it's way out in the boonies, but it's my own place and I love it.  I can dance around naked, play my music and bass as loud as I want, and generally be obnoxious without having to worry what the neighbors or roommates think.  Up until yesterday, I was without internet, but now I'm connected to the net again and it's glorious.

*I have a dog.  His name is Nacho, and he likes bacon.  Pictures will be added later tonight, or tomorrow, or whenever I get around to it.  Just be patient, and you'll get to observe the ultimate cuteness of a Jack Russel/Beagle mixed puppy.

*Family life is good.  My mom's spending her days taking care of Eli and Hannah and our two Labradoodles, and generally kicking ass.  There's been some turmoil with Nate, which has resulted in a seperation (but not divorce).  I'm not sure what will come of that, but I hope it gets worked out in some way that doesn't involve too much fighting.  Alice has finally grown up and moved out of the house.  She's a painter, a drinker, and a general free spirit.  I love her and hope she figures out how to get along with Mom one of these days.  Sam's out in Hollywood living with his band in a house with a pool.  He's living gig to gig and being broke as hell while he's doing it, but he's loving every minute of it.  Check out The Easy Marks on Myspace, if you want to hear them.  Dad's still working at Antiques Roadshow, happily married to his amazing Irish wife, and being the best dad he can be.  Eli and Hannah are amazing kids, who will probably get their own post a little bit down the line.  I've got way too many pictures and stories to fit into here.

*The world of relationships has managed to continue being somewhat non-existant since I moved down here, but I guess I just have to keep holding out for something to come along of its own accord.  The only girl who has seemed to show any interest in me was a bit...off her rocker, in a bad way.  We still keep in touch, but only when it involves other people.  I wonder what exactly I'm doing wrong, to not seem appealing to anyone I talk to or meet, but I guess it's just the way things work out sometimes.

*I'm driving a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88, and I'm just waiting for it to burst into flames one day on my way home from work.  It's a sturdy car, in the sense that I could hit this thing with a wrecking ball and still drive it away.  It's not a sturdy car in the sense that every time I drive it, there's a sound coming from under the hood that makes it sound like my car is powered by appx. 54983420 small chirping birds.

Now that I think about it, that might be a safer alternative to what's under the hood now.

So there you have it.  My life at this point, in a nutshell, for your enjoyment.

Until next time, stranger.
