Turtle Power!
ok so Lily is crazy about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and asked Santa for action figures. We went to Toys R Us and the entire TMNT section was wiped out. Not one.single.toy! We went back and there were a handful so we snagged what we could. There are 4 turtles, red, orange, purple, and blue. We got the other 3 but purple is nowhere to be found. I checked Toys R Us, WalMart, Kmart, the mall, Big Lots...
and multiple times. Nowhere!!! I asked toys r us when they will be getting more - all they can tell me is that they get trucks every day, at different times, and they don't know what's on them. WTF? They told me I'd just have to check every day. Except I'm not driving all the way up there to look every day. And they can't hold one for me. I guess that makes sense cuz then they would be holding things for everybody.
So I get online to check. People are selling them at exorbitant prices. If you can find them in the store, they're between 7.99-10.99. Online the cheapest I have found is 22.99! For one measly action figure. It doesn't even talk or anything.
Ok, I could just buy it, fine, but it's making me angry that I have to pay double or triple. I asked Lily what her favorite turtle is and OF COURSE she said purple. The only one we can't get.
So frustrating. If anyone sees it somewhere, I will pay you money! I just hate buying from people on ebay or amazon who take advantage like that. grrrr. Worse comes to worst she will just have to get it after Christmas when there will be s surplus of them, I'm sure.
Besides that the gifting is going well. Need to pick up a few more things for the kids and stocking stuffers, but I got Johnny done and I'm hapy about that. I just got him a few hats and flops and some Ralph Lauren cologne (Romance! yum!) and this Jack Black facial stuff he likes. not too much, but I have basically no money of my own and I hate to buy him things with his own money. So I'm feeling good that I managed all that I did.
We're trying to not go tooooo crazy for the kids which is so hard but we want to try to hold off so we can take them to Disney in January for Ella's birthday.
But we will still end up spending way too much. We need to cap it at some point. It's hard to not give your kids every little thing they want! Harder for Johnny than for me!
I have written out all my Christmas cards but haven't mailed them yet. I forgot to get stickers and they look so plain. I can't mail them all naked like that! So hopefully in the next day or two. Sorry if they are late to any of you's who are so flippin' far away!
