WTF MIL
My mother in law babysat my kiddos today for a few hours while I was at work. She is a complete wackadoodle.
When we cleaned out all the furniture she left in her house and hauled it to the auction for her so she could at least get a little money out of it instead of letting the foreclosure people come in and do whatever the heck they do with houses full of stuff, she asked for us to put aside two pieces of furniture for her that she wanted to keep. They are both - a bench and an antique buffet table - in our house, just waiting for her to take them home.
So I stuck the buffet up against the wall out of the way. When I got home today it was in the front hallway under the mirror and the table that used to be there was shoved off into the hallway, like totally blocking it up. I said to J, 'what the hell?' and he told me his mom moved it because she thought it looked better.
WTF? Firstly, I thought she was taking that stuff to her house. If I had known she wasn't, that thing would be in my garage, or better yet, off to the auction house or in a yard sale.
Secondly, who the hell comes over to your house and redecorates? not cool, dude.
This reminds me another example of her lunacy. We have an entertainment system with three dvd player or tv boxes stacked up on top of each other. One is the brighthouse box, one is a regular dvd player, and one is a special dvd player my dad gave me that has an external hard drive that allows me to put movies I download right on my tv super easily. Ok, so I came home one day and I was like.... what happened to my dad's gift? It was missing. I thought I was going crazy. Like, how could I have misplaced something I never move? It was missing for weeks. Finally I complained enough to J about it that he mentioned something to his mom and she was like, "Oh that!" She had moved it out to a shelf in the back of my garage that I never would have found if she hadn't told me. (our garage is full of other people's shit, on top of all of our things) She thought we 'weren't using it'. DOUBLE wtf? Who does that? She didn't even know what it was.
