up in the air
it's the last day of the Balloon and Sky festival and Johnny has today off, so I'm hoping later on, weather permitting, I'll be up in a hot air balloon!!!!
It's really hard if it's a tiny bit windy, though, so we'll see.
J is afraid of heights so he wouldn't. But I would love to! It's only tethered to the ground, so it's not even like I'd be floating all over town, but still! fun!
Besides that there are air shows and kids stuff like pony rides and bounce houses...
I want to go later on when it's not so stinking sweaty hot. Yesterday was terrible. I walked outside and 5 minutes later I had a tan, that's how sunny it was. :(
Johnny's 37th birthday is in two days, but he has to work, so we're celebrating today. He won't have another day off for a while so today is it! I didn't realize this until yesterday so I hightailed it around town to get him something! I picked up an oreo ice cream pie even though I don't care much for Oreo's, but johnny loves that stuff, so I think he'll like it!
And I got him a gift card to AE and some shirts from kohl's.
I'm going to surprise him on his actual birthday with a nice home cooked dinner.
Probably a pot roast with veggies and potatoes and stuff.
Next week is John's grandma's 80th birthday. He has to work, of course, but he still expects me to take the girls over to celebrate. She is nice and has done a lot of stuff for us but it will just be awkward being around all that family that I still don't really know/like. haha hopefully I'll be able to take the car that day so I can leave when I want instead of riding with his mom and having to stay the whole time. I sound mean and ungrateful I guess. I love Mimi, I just don't love some of those other people. hahah I will go and be nice and let the kids play!
SO we never moved in with J's mom and now the house is foreclosed and she's moving into an apartment. It's a shame but it's not really any of my business. She's going to give us her living room furniture because it's too big for a small apartment. Our couch is terrible and stained and stuff (not good fabric for children) so I'll be glad to have something to replace that. We are shopping for a nice living room rug. We're going to give her the small sofa we have in the sunroom/kids playroom. I feel terrible for her but I think it's best for her since she really couldn't keep up with that huge house.
Two houses down from us a house has been for sale forever, and now one across the street is also up for sale. J and I talk about buying a house constantly. His credit is up 100 points from last year, so that's good! we're trying really hard to improve it so we could get a loan for a house. i hope that is something on the horizon for us, it is really important to me to own a house someday!
