Reaction: Flesh & Stone

Finally watched it! This is why I don’t like going out on a Saturday, I’m firmly of the opinion that my social life should revolve around Doctor Who and not the other way on.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but there’s a part of me feels like I didn’t start getting into it until half way through - and I can’t figure out why. I’m guessing it’s because more and more things were slowly being revealed by then.

One thing I did love (and though was quite scary) was Amy counting down and not even realising she was doing it. It all started out so natural that when you finally realise something is wrong it gets really creepy. I’ve also got to admit that I thought Amy closing her eyes was a rather strange temporary solution to the Angel in her mind, but when she had to make her way through the forest without opening her eyes it made sense.

The Angels are still scary - they were especially scary when Amy was making her way through the woods as it’s the first time we’ve ever seen them move. We know they do, but we’ve never seen it.

I couldn’t help but think we saw a whole new dynamic to the Doctor, an angry dynamic, but still a new dynamic.

So River killed a man - a very good man. I’m thinking the Doctor, but for a very good reason - and that’s why we never find out who she killed. I look forward to seeing River again, I do like her.

I’m glad Amy told the Doctor about the wedding, the only thing is any companion who falls for the Doctor losses points in my opinion. Why do they all fall for him? Though she earns points because she’s the only one who has actually come on to him, with a no-strings opinion to the whole thing - and the whole situation was just so funny because of how he reacted.

The crack in the wall…hmm…it all felt far too convenient to get rid of the Angels, but I am interested to see how it all revolves around Amy and where it’s going.
