The wind remains of hurricane Ike moved through louisville and the surrounding areas today from about 11am to 5pm. Public and catholic schools are closed tomorrow. Almost 300,000 people are without power. I am in one the few islands of electricity in the city

Power just came back on here about half-past-midnight, and I expect entirely that I'll have to report to my office as if nothing had happened.

We're okay; some trees cracked and lots of branches came down, but we came through just fine.
