The wind remains of hurricane Ike moved through louisville and the surrounding areas today from about 11am to 5pm. Public and catholic schools are closed tomorrow. Almost 300,000 people are without power. I am in one the few islands of electricity in the city.
scary day. I have no idea if I have power at home. I didn't when I left for work.
Church was good. Service was very good, imo. As I was walking to my car I got whacked in the face with a stick(I think) it knocked off my glasses and left me breathless for a minute. I am okay, just a little sore. My glasses are wonky, so I may get them adjusted tomorrow.
I went into work late. I got here about 3pm, we didn't have power until after 5pm. There was a tree in the next yard that was visibly breathing(best description) everytime the wind hit it. It fell around 4pm. It didn't hit anything. very scary.
I hope all are okay and safe. .
