In regards to the stories, back then they didn't really have anything to steal homage. It's like BSG now taking stories from the old BSG. I don't have a problem with it. ;)
Yeah, I think they are still trying to keep it a family show. Torchwood (which had almost the same audience anyway) was them trying that, if they did that with DW it would be...not good.
I liked the atmosphere of Torchwood but everything else about it failed beyond all failures. And imo they just did the cursing and the sex gratuitously, because they could. And that's just stupid and forced. I say DW should fall in the healthy medium. No cursing, but possibly we can stop referring to sex as dancing. ;)

Completely agreed! Although if they really wanted to spice things up and go with the times, then they should stop worrying about the old skool viewers and do what's good for their own show and make the doctor a lady for the whole season or whatever. I dunno of Trish could do it, but I love her anyway. Julie Benz, totally never thought about it, but give her more acting to do and I'm on board. I strongly believe that Claudia Black has the sci-fi background/range for it, more so than the other ladies. Plus, like you said, her comedic timing is perfect, and her accent is HOT. She would just run with it! And she's a fan of the show, so that's always good. :D
