My favorite video this year (of my own):

Marble House. And to be honest, I still can't quite comprehend the scope of the vid and how it actually came together. Everything about it was such a gamble, and yet, there it is! Personally it was a monumental vid, and I think having done it helped me reach a new level of maturity as an artist. But of course then the thinking starts of how I'll never surpass it and then there's lots of anxiety and frustration and run-on sentences and...yeah. :/

My least favorite:

I don't really have a least favorite this year? (Probs cuz I don't have that many vids! Grr.) But I suppose there are a couple shots in Life in a a Glass House and Doll Parts that I could fiddle with?

Most successful video:

In terms of comments/discussion/impact/personal satisfaction it's definitely Marble House. But then this year I went on this giant missionary quest to try and convert people into the Seeker fandom and I'm proud to say that strategic vidding works! ...and ladies with pretty hair (and then Bedtime Story) was a very successful recruiter vid. :)

Speaking of huge successes... deej and such_heights rock my world because they both did amazing, incredible, splendiferous jobs with their viewer commentaries for ...and ladies with pretty hair and Marble House (respectively). SRSLY, ILU GUYS!!! ♥♥♥

Video most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

Definitely Pass This On, and yes, I am bitter. :P But only because it's about a very specific bit of meta that seemed HUGE to me at the time but I guess Seeker fandom just didn't even want to go to there.

Most fun video:

Art Bitch! I got to draw my own Mandala and then deej made those awesome fake magazine covers which really completed my vision of the vid. And since it was for Club Vivid, well the point was to have fun. :D

Video with single sexiest moment:

Ummm...can I just say all of Bedtime Story? (Especially 3:28-3:46, because yum.) Also I'm pretty fond of the three-way zoom into Kahlan's eye in Pass This On (:27-:31). Eye zooms get me hot, OK?!

Biggest vid fail:

HAVING THE HUGEST POST-VVC SLUMP EVER! WTS IS THAT??? WHY WASN'T I WARNED THIS MIGHT HAPPEN?!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Cry. :'(

Hardest video to make:

Marble House. I refused to cut the song because it's so beautiful and every bit of it seemed integral to the story, but that meant editing to a VERY intricately structured five minute song which ended up being quite the challenge. Not to mention the general pressure of vidding something for VVC Premieres which I'd never done before. And also attending! (Liquid Bird was also pretty dificult mainly because I had moved away from the SGA fandom at that point and had to work hard at recalling all those old emotions to get it done.)

Most unintentionally telling video:

That's hard. I dunno, Pass This On? Because I kept harping on about how Baddie/Hero's Girlfriend is like favorite tv trope?

The things I've learned this year:

- When you have shit premiering at Vividcon, have your posts all ready and waiting before you get there so's you can drunk!post them in the middle of the night as they premiere. That's what the cool kids do.

- Then when you get back from Vividcon...VID SOMETHING! ANYTHING! JUST MAKE SURE YOU DO IT AND POST IT!!!!111

- Don't watch Twin Peaks and expect your life not to be derailed because it will be. That said, EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH TWIN PEAKS IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!

For 2010:

I really want to branch out in what I vid. Follow my instincts, open myself up to vidding new fandoms, even doing movie vids which is something I just don't naturally do. And then I say this every year but learn After Effects? At least a little bit? Also follow my instincts and GET SHIT DONE!!!
