Shelter or store? Most Americans say no question
Lovely article, really, about the validity of getting a pet from a shelter vs. a breeder or pet store. Only thing that irks me about it?
John Knight, 45, of Dallas, got his 3-year-old mutt named Liesl (rhymes with diesel) from an animal shelter that was holding a weekend adoption day at Petsmart.
"There are plenty of animals out there that need good homes that don't have them. There's no reason to continue to breed animals when there are so many that have to be put down," he said.
Why won't our species do this with our OWN fucking breeding problem? God. We are not so fucking special, yanno. There shouldn't be almost 7 billion of us on this planet. We can hardly sustain the population we have and these stupid fuckers just keep having more while millions of kids languish in the foster care system. GAH.
