Name: What shall we call you?
Age: If you'd rather not post this here, just PM a mod.
Journal: You don't need to have one, but if you do, let us know!
Contact: an email address, IM contact (AIM, preferably), or other way we can get in touch with you
1. Character's Name: What shall we call them?
2. Age: How old are they?
3. Background: Tell us about the character’s world and their life so far!
What we’re looking for in this section:
∝ A comprehensive explanation of the world-premise.
∝ An outline of any setting or historical details we’ll need to know about in order to understand your character’s history, abilities, personality, and why they are the way they are.
∝ A brief history of the character and any events that have significantly shaped their life so far.
4. Personality: Introduce the character to us! What are they like and why are they like that?
What we’re looking for in this section:
∝ What the character is like mentally and emotionally, on average. e.g Happy, sad, insecure, friendly, ornery, angry, distant etc
∝ What stimuli or situations cause them to react and how do they react to them? e.g. what will make them happy? What will make them sad or angry or frustrated? How do they react to new situations?
∝ A balance of mental and emotional strengths and flaws.
∝ Whether or not they have a particular moral code
∝ Internal consistency: Is the personality section you’ve just written consistent with their behaviour throughout their background/history and their attitude in the samples? If not, tell us why.
5. Previous Game Developments: You only need to answer this section if you would like to carry over development or CR from a previous game.
What we’re looking for in this section:
∝ A link to the game
∝ A link to your character’s community tag (if community based) or journal and log tag (if journal based)
∝ A brief history of your character’s time in the game.
∝ Any major relationships they developed, especially cross-canon ones
∝ Any major events that effected your character. e.g. plot events that they took part in, or curse events where something significantly life-altering resulted from the curse. Include links.
6. Appearance: What do they look like? Have they been altered by Keep restrictions? Do they have more than one form?
7. Abilities: Does your character have a particular skill, talent or supernatural power? Let us know about it!
What we’re looking for in this section:
∝ A summary of their mundane abilities. e.g. basket weaving, gymnastics etc.
∝ A summary of their unaltered supernatural traits. This includes passive things like immortality or endurance as well as active things like spells or telepathy.
∝ A balance of strengths and weaknesses in their abilities. Not only is it true that nobody can be good at everything, but particular abilities - and supernatural ones especially - often carry new vulnerabilities as offsets.
∝ An indication that you’ve read the rules and FAQ and know how they’ll limit these abilities
∝ Some examples for how these limitations will actually appear and affect characters when they use their abilities in-game.
8. Languages: Tell us what language they speak and write.
9. Items: What was your character carrying on them at the point you're introducing them into the Keep?
10. Weapons: Now, what weapons were they carrying?
What we’re looking for in this section:
∝ A list of weaponry that the character is carrying on them
∝ An indication of how each of these weapons will be limited in accordance with the rules.
11. Writing sample - Third Person: This can be any situation, but must be at least 300 words.
What we’re looking for in this section:
∝ Good spelling and grammar. Proof read! This goes for your whole application, but this section most especially
∝ Decent writing standard. Avoid purple prose and thesaurus-syndrome.
∝ Internal consistency
12. Character sample - Q&A: Please respond to some of the following questions in character. If it’s IC for your character to give a smart retort or lie, then go right ahead! You should respond to at least three questions, and should keep answering questions until you’ve written at least ten sentences. For the purposes of this sample, a sentence consists of at least a verb.
What we’re looking for in this section:
∝ Your character’s “voice” - that is, their speech or thought patterns
∝ Internal consistencyWhat's your most vivid memory?

Someone cuts in front of you in a line. How do you react, if at all?
You wake to find yourself handcuffed to another person and stranded in the desert. What is your relationship to the person and how did you get there?
A very good friend of yours lies to you about something important, but for a decent reason. What do you do?
You wake to find that you have turned into a pony. How do you react and what is the first thing that you do?
You are asked to deliver an important item to your neighbour and are told that it is a surprise gift and you shouldn't tell them who it's from. You’ve wanted something like this for a long time, but by chance, you misplace it. By the time you find it, two weeks later, nobody seems to have missed it. What do you do?
A new friend gets in a fight with an old friend and both are sentenced to trial by combat. You feel the old friend was to blame, but then the new friend asks you to fight in their place as their champion. What do you do?
You find a door with 'Do Not Enter' printed on it's front. It doesn't appear to be locked in any way. Do you obey the sign and leave it alone, or take a look inside?
Your closest companion at the Keep calls you over to their room. When you get there, they hand you a knife and tell you that the person passed out on their bed has contracted a deadly, incurable contagion which will go viral in a matter of hours, but your friend doesn't have the heart to kill them. What do you do?
For 24 hours, you have a super power of your choice. What power do you have, and what do you do with the time you've got it for?
You find a young but incredibly dangerous creature in the forest. It's not a threat right now, but it won't be long before the creature grows up and begins preying on residents. What do you do?

14. Room Preference: Would you like them near a particular character or in a specific room? Nominate here. We'll do our best to fill the request.
