Woooooah

So it's been a loooooooong time since I wrote in this baby! Quite a lot has happened...let's see, where shall I even begin? I suppose the most important stuff should come first.

+Shane and I finally got together!! (Almost 3 months ago...jeez!) It's going great, and I'm even staying with him in Lake Linden for the summer. So I'm about 8 hours away from Saginaw right now. More on this in a minute...

+School got out, and I'm not going back to CMU next semester. I slacked off and didn't get my basic requirements out of the way, a lot's happening with my aid and loans and junk, so I'm pretty much being forced to pay for a lot of it out of pocket (Kids, do super well in school so they don't take away your aid!! Not only did I not take the classes I NEEDED to take...well, I did, but they weren't requirements for graduation/freshmen, but I slacked a bit on the ones I did take and didn't do as well as I'd have liked). So basically I'll be going to Delta for the next semester, possibly two. I can take 20 credits there for a little over $2,000(including books and fees!), whereas only 15 at CMU is around $16,000(including dorm room and everything). So basically, I'm using this year to work and save and get some more credits and get required classes out of the way!

+I got a job!!!!!!! Since I've been up here (May 5), I've been hunting like mad. Only nobody's hiring yet, because it's only May. So I filled out like 19 applications for various places and finally got picked up at Shopko!!! So I'm pretty flippin' excited!! Actually I'm really nervous--I'll admit it, this is my first job! (Well, the first that's paid anything, anyway. I've spent most of my teenage years volunteering like crazy, so shutup. I've been working, like most, but for NO pay...na na na na na!) I actually officially start today at 5. Bleh.

I'm sure there's tons more to say, I just can't think of anything...

Shane and I took a trip to Saginaw this past weekend; it was really nice. Lauren and Brad came to see us, which was awesome. We had a nice little fire and Gil and Christina came over for a bit, too. After everyone left, we pretty much slept and then left, too. When we got into the U.P., we saw this beach. And it was a super nice day out. So we decided, hey, let's go! However, there was no parking the way we were coming from. So I had to turn around...only we were on a highway with very few places to turn around. So naturally when Shane and I saw what appeared to be a driveway, I swung right in...and got stuck. A 1996 Chevy Corsica is definitely NOT made for driving in sand, and it certainly proved that on Monday. The second the tires hit the sand, I was pretty much in. My car was actually sitting on the sand (meaning that the body was on top of it and the tires were pretty much buried). So we set to work digging. This proved futile, and a nice man came out and gave us some welcome mats to stick under the tires. So we were in luck!!!

...Only it didn't work. So basically, we're stuck still. We're digging and digging, I'm being an idiot and picking up a few rocks here and there (I wanted to remember it!!), digging with Shane, and finally...FINALLY after about 20 minutes, these people in a truck pull up and ask if we're stuck and if we'd like some help. So they helped...they towed us out! Wooooo nice people!!! So then we went to the beach, didn't have any swimming stuff on us so we just kinda threw some shorts and stuff on, went for a swim, hung out a bit, had some fun and went on our way. So we're back here now, I went to orientation Tuesday, had yesterday off, have to kill time until 5 today (everyone else is at work), so I decided to write in this baby again. So yeah, I'll probably start writing more often because I miss this...

Anyway, I need to do some things (namely watch the Golden Girls)...

Later!!!

♥ Holly
