I refuse to pay LJ money and hate the ads on plus account, so I must bear the terrible burden of wading through tantalizing Internet discussions with merely six icons.

That's totally cool. I was the same way--I used 6 icons until last year, when a horrified friend bought me some icon bundles. Later that year, I got a paid account so I could use one of the features. I love having more icon space, but sometimes I still boggle at the sheer number of choices I have now. >_> I don't know how people handle 100+ icons. It MYSTIFIES, I tell you. :P

You can have icon bundles even without having a paid account? Coolness. Ahaha, I guess if someone's extremely multi-fandom, having 100 icons would come in handy.
