(no subject)
In personal life news, "miserable cold" has segued directly into "period," so that's been about as fun as you could expect. Doubled by the fact I woke up this morning and despite leaving a couple of taps to drip the pipes have apparently frozen over, so there is no running water of any kind. D: Oh well, house in the mountains, what do you expect... not -4 degree Fahrenheit weather, apparently, which is roughly the temperature outside when I woke up this morning, so gods know how cold it actually got at its worst. Hardly to be compared with the truly miserable weather hitting up north and in the midwest, but bad enough.
ANYWAY ENOUGH OF THAT. I finally got my hands on Ancillary Justice, having heard wonderful things about it on the internet (especially from
qian and
skygiants), and I would just like to say that it is exactly as wonderful as everyone claimed and I love it and I need the sequel as of yesterday, please. Both excellent writing and id-pleasing goodness - what more can one want?
I have also finished Bioshock and it was EXTREMELY AWESOME, I got the good ending and it was so sweet and being a Big Daddy was fantastic if a bit nerve-wracking. (There may have been a lot of "SWEETIE WAIT UP FOR ME OKAY YOU'RE HARD TO SEE IN THE DARK" "GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM MY LITTLE SISTER YOU FUCKING CREEPS" "honey could you please hurry up with the Adam harvesting daddy would like to move on now" and such being spoken to the screen.) I really, really want to play Bioshock 2, but not having a gaming store nearby, have taken up Mass Effect instead and - well - it's a change of pace, let's put it like that. XD I like having my alien boyfriends, but the combat is just such a mess and it feels like it takes forever to get anywhere/do anything... At least my FemShep is awesome. I'm going for Paragon this time because if Bioshock taught me anything, it's that I am a giant sap who can't be mean to fictional people, but it can be weird figuring out the right answers and I'm not sure if I'm always doing it right. Also made harder because I haven't figured out where the "how much do my squadmates like me" meter is. I JUST NEED TO KNOW IF I AM GETTING ON OKAY WITH GARRUS AND WREX, DAMN IT. ... so I will wrap up here and go play more, I would like to at least get off Noveria today (WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO DO ANYTHING).
