The Cat House Era.

Mar 15, 2010 20:20

I am naming this period of my life as "The Cat House Era." Travis recently told me to start up a journal, considering every weekend of ours has a story to tell.. hell, usually even the weekdays have awesome stories. I've been making alot of posts on my twitter account, which can be accessed here: http://www.twitter.com/frnkstrk

SO time for the usual "catcher uper" post I do whenever I start posting here again... my life changes so randomly each time too it seems.

I'm finishing my second semester at SUNY Oneonta.
I hang out with Travis Ryan, Nick Tassinari, Sean Rodden, Justin Baldwin, and Jason Lopez entirely too much.
I have been dead set on moving out of this shit hole and moving on campus next year in a quad with Travis, Nick and Jason. The Oneonta gods are doing everything to try and prevent this. I can understand why, based on the ridiculous things we have done this past semester, but I still wish they would stop being such assholes.
It seems as if I have to come up with 2 grand by April 15th in order for this all to work out. Want to know why?

Quick summary of how Frank has gotten fucked so far at Oneonta:

Applied to college early March 2009.
Received responses to other colleges within 3 weeks.
No response from Ostate.
Called up April 1st.
"People are reviewing applications this week so I'm sure yours is one of them, you'll get something in the mail soon."
Nothing comes in mail.
May 1st comes by
Call up again.
"People are reviewing applications this week so I'm sure yours is one of them, you'll get something in the mail soon."
Nothing comes in the mail.
Frank calls again after waiting 10 days. Leaves voicemail for someone more important than dumb receptionists.
Get's a call back but misses the call. It's May 14th.
Calls back May 15th.
Lady is very nice, says she will look into Frank's application status and call him back tomorrow.
No call is placed the following day.
Frank calls again next day. It is May 17th.
Lady says she has found Frank's application, and that for some reason it was misfiled. Explains she will review it personally today.
Frank is happy.
Lady also decided to say "Oh, but just so you know, housing for transfer students closed out 2 days ago."
Frank is PISSED, but realizing he is currently on the phone with the person who decides if he is accepted or not, says: No Problem.
Lady calls back next day, says Frank is accepted and that he is to report to orientation on July 6th.
Frank goes to orientation on July 6th only to be told that because he did not log on to Oneonta's website and click "attending" he has to drive 4 1/2 hours home and come back another time.

(On a side note, I just had one of the most intense arguments with a friend leading with the quickest apology and resolution. 10 minutes ago I would have told you it would be a 3 month long argument. But alas, unfortunately for you, I am no longer 15 years old where I talk about how much I love my girlfriend or give detailed accounts of arguments and think i'm clever and totally inconspicuous by not using their names. haha. sorry! no more info on that front.)

Fast forward to November 2009
Frank asks people in reslife (or whatever they call it here at Oneonta) if it will be a problem for him to move onto campus next year since he was never offered it to begin with. He is told it will not be.

Fast forward to late Februrary 2010
Frank receives an email explaining to all students that in order to be involved in room selection for next year, you must be a current on campus resident, or move on campus before the start date (March 26 2010)
Frank finishes reading this email and realizes he just paid his landlord 2g for this semester, as well signed a legal document binding him to continue payment until June 2010.
Frank is not happy, and immediately calls office to set up appointment with the head of "Res-life", Mike Farmer. (Not to be confused with Mike Barnwell.)
Best case scenario, Frank moves onto campus March 24th, paying a deducted rate for housing/meal plan equaling -- you guessed it, another 2g.

Therefore, I am currently doing everything I can to somehow acquire $2,000 before April 15th. (Approx date payment will be due.)

That includes borrowing whatever remaining amount of money Travis has from his student loans, and all 4 of us (Travis, Jason, Nick and I) getting jobs and donating 100% of our earnings towards the "Find Frank A Home Fund."

So please, after reading that, please realize how much I need this money, and --donate? Ha. Honestly though, if anyone could throw me the cash, I can assure you I will pay you back by 8/1/10. I will sign any legal binding documents to prove that to you. I have done the math, and will make more than enough money to pay that back by august 1st once I return home to my full-time job in late May.

Anyone interested in helping out??? text me or msg me on Facebook.
