Dude, I totally needs to make an "Everybody Lives" image marco, with the picture of the passengers of US Airway Flight 1549, standing on the wing of the plane that was safely landed on the Hudson river. Everybody Lives

Title: If It Makes Us Happy
Pairing/Characters: Janto, Team, Rhys, Andy, Eugene, Johnny Davies, Rhiannon.
Summary: Jack and Ianto's very lovely wedding where everyone is happy

Warning: Everybody Lives

"If It Makes Us Happy"

In the end, they managed to have the strangely coveted June wedding in a pretty park, Jack in classic military dress, and Ianto in a matching vintage wedding gown, both thoroughly enjoying themselves as they watched other people trying and failing to keep a Straight Face.

"So..." Johnny Davies started...attempting to crack a joke about Ianto being 'the wife', but he failed to find his voice when his brother-in-law turned fully towards him with a Perfect Stepford Smile.

"So...", Ianto batted his lushly painted eyelashes imploringly, "so what is it?"

Johnny Davies closed his gaping mouth with effort, and then he ran for the safety of the woods, where Rhiannon were showing their children what berries were safe for eating.

Ianto smirked at Johnny's retreating back, hand on his hip, and tried not to curl his toes when that pressed the silk lining against a sensitive spot on his waist. His regular suit and tie allowed him to take Torchwood off at the end of the day, and the loose fit of a woman's gown was a delightful change. The precious memory of everyone's reaction will also last him a life time.

Nothing about the two of them will ever be made into a Disney movie. The only pair of rings that Ianto had ever brought with a wedding in mind, was meant for a woman killed by cyborgs, and they were now resting in a corner of his handkerchief drawer. When Jack moves in with Ianto, that pair of rings would be joined by other pairs of rings from Jack's past lives. Jack had shown Ianto those a week before their wedding, and if the Bad Wolf didn't fix Jack after all..."you'll be there too."

Once in love, Jack and Ianto will always love the people they love, their hearts are kingdoms of infinite space, in which forever lives. It is with this shared understanding that they shared confidence, shared faith.

It was about a week after Gwen had arranged her transfer to a police sergeant posting in Swansea, where she and Rhys could raise their baby in peace, when Jack and Ianto began finding wedding magazines on their desks. "Just before I go", she insisted, "I just want to see the two of you happy."

They both told Gwen that they already were, again and again, even when Gwen had started leaving out travel brochures targeted towards honeymooning couples. It escalated to the point where Gwen lured Jack and Ianto to a wedding outlet store and locked them in, "Just give it a try Jack, you have to make Ianto an honest man!"

Ianto was tempted to tell Gwen that he had no desire to be an honest man, truth is something to be given to the general public when you have nothing better. He's got a few good rebuttals against the stupid free milk argument too, when he was interrupted by the sound of Jack's cellphone hitting the wall.

"Tosh isn't answering her phone," Jack explained, face puzzled because Tosh always answers her phone, "and Owen isn't either, though that's no surprise."

...and that was when they've figured out that Tosh and Owen was in on it too, either in retribution towards the times that Jack and Ianto had rubbed their sex lives in everyone's faces (or rather, just Owen's), or to distract Gwen from her other parting project of setting them up.

The final straw was when Rhys had brought the baby to the hub, turning Tosh into a girl and drawing a strange alien gibberish from Owen. At the very least, Jack and Ianto knew that they did not want this, Jack already had a daughter, and a grandson (even if they were in hiding), and Ianto had long left everything in his will to his sister and her children.

It was then, with Gwen and Rhys pointedly looking at the two of them, and Tosh and Owen trying not to, that Jack and Ianto decided that as happy as they already are, a wedding would be fun.

Sitting on a set of swings and analysing the swirls of a sunflower, it looked like that Tosh was hitting it off with Eugene Jones after all. At the open bar beside the evergreens, Gwen was snickering at Andy Davidson and Owen, who had formed a support group over losing their tongues. Ianto was just about to saunter up to them when his handsome groom appeared at his side.

Clearing his throat with a manly cough, Jack gallantly held out an arm for his wide-eyed bride, who skipped lightly along with him as they headed towards the SUV for one last romp before the ceremony. The fresh air between Ianto's legs just makes him feel alive!

ETA: If you have liked that, try this: The New Pornographers - "Sing Me Spanish Techno", which, in spite of the bandname, is nothing pornographic, promise! It's a gorgeous sensual video with drag.
