Draco had finished dinner rather quickly, as McGonagall's welcoming speech had bored him to no end and he was eager to dissolve into the actions of unpacking his belongings. This year, since he had been elected Head Boy, he had private quarters in the Slytherin House. Smirking to himself, he jogged down the stairs to the dungeons, sneering at whoever he happened to pass.
Approaching his House, he glared at the wall for only a second before muttering the password. "Death and Destruction." Ironic choice, considering that the war was currently beginning and there would be plenty of the password when the time came. Draco released a wicked chuckle before striding into the empty common room and heading to his bed chamber. Thank Merlin that he no longer had to share a room with Crabbe and Goyle.
Muttering the password for his sleeping quarters, he stepped inside and eyed his trunk. Waving his wand, his eyes widened when the lid flew open. Amidst his clothing and books lay a solitary silver piece of parchment, the Malfoy crest emblazoned on the top, left-hand corner. Striding forward, he lifted the letter and read through it swiftly.
Draco,
I felt it safer to send this to school with your effects, as it would be a series of dreadful consequences should someone have intercepted it with the post. I managed to purchase it off of a nice gentleman who'd located it within some Black heirlooms. Take good care of it, as I know you will.

Draco's eyebrows rose as he lowered the parchment and glanced into his trunk. Gleaming in its gold, green and black glory sat the crest of Slytherin. On a locket. His lips tilting into a devious smirk, he lifted the object from its chain, drinking in its appearance. Now, he could really be the Prince of Slytherin. Grinning broadly at the idea of the power that came along with this title, he slipped the chain about his neck, running his fingers across the design before continuing to unpack his belongings.
To think he used to despise his mother for buying from thieves.
(( I started another thread as it appeared that no one wanted to join the Great Hall's Welcoming Feast. Hopefully this will make everyone realize just how far behind you're all falling. For Merlin's sake, POST! ))
