Elwood had spent the greater part of the morning examining the school, trying to get a feel for the environment. It was, as he had found very early on, going to take some time to understand; the place was big enough even without considering the moving staircases and secret passages. Elwood had been contemplating a number of doors, considering just where he might turn next, when he heard and then saw the man. "Not lost," he shrugged, "just looking around."

"All kinds of things, yeah." He looked over the man, trying to recall whether he'd seen him around. If he had, he couldn't remember. Perhaps that was to be expected. "I didn't realize how complex this place is." If he could ever figure it out, so much the better.

"'Complex' isn't even the tip of the iceberg, it seems. Have you tried the surrounding grounds yet?" Grant had the feeling he was being given a once-over, but it was hard to tell with the dark glasses the man was wearing. "Alan Grant. Pleased to meet you." He held out his hand.

He'd seen very little of the grounds as of yet; that area would have to come after he had figured out the inside. Both would be necessary at some point. "Not much at all, yet. I'll get there." He didn't recognize the man's name, but that was no great surprise. After a moment's hesitation, he took the man's hand politely. "Elwood Blues. Nice to meet you as well, Mr. Grant."

"Well, good luck when you do. Take care, Mr. Blues, and watch out for the stairs." Grant gave him a parting nod and walked off.

Elwood nodeed after the man, shrugged. All right, then, Grant; he'd have to remember that. "A lotta names to remember here," he muttered, resuming his examination of the doors. Finally, he chose the one that seemed most promising and continued onward.
