Pippi Longstocking, from those books/movies/TV-shows and so on.

Enter a nine-year old girl, her vividly orange/red hair in two braids protruding from her head underneath a large black pirate hat with a white skull and two crossed bones. She's wearing a blue and red dress and mismatching socks. On her feet she is wearing a pair of boots twice as long as her feet. Her freckly face is grinning widely. On her ( Read more... )

HI! I'm Nemo! I'm a clownfish! Can you tell me a story or teach me a pirate song?

Do you want to pet my tribble? She likes to be petted, her name is Furryfurrysoft! *The fluffy gray ball with reddish-brown spots chirps inquiringly from inside the cage suspended outside the fishtank.*

*Nemo likes and trusts Pippi already, and doesn't even feel like he needs to ask whether she might eat him.*

Pippi peeked into Nemo's aquarium. She grinned widely. "Hey, I've seen fishes like you before, when I was diving in the South Seas with my father. Sure I can tell you a story! I could tell you something that happened when I was in Portugal and met the feared pirate captain Greybeard. He had only tree teeth, and they were all of gold, and when he grinned you could see your own reflection in those teeth..."

Mister Nilsson screeched at the sight of Furryfurrysoft, and Pippi shushed him with a stern look on her face. "Don't be rude now, Mister Nilsson!

Nemo's eyes widened. "Wow! What happened next?"

"Doesn't Mister Nilsson like Furryfurrysoft?"

"Greybeard had unfortunately gotten the measles, so his ship had been forced to anchor in the Portugese dock while his crew searched for a doctor. As it happened, my father was in Portugal as well at this time, and on his ship we had the best doctor in the world. He cured the Emperor of China when he had the chicken pox. Greybeard sent his crew over to fight us so that they could bring him our doctor, who's name was Theodore, but we were too strong, and instead they had to compete with our crew in three difficult tasks. If we won, they would give us a chest filled with gold and jewels, and if they won they would get Theodore." Pippi's voice remained cheerful and light; as if fighting with pirates didn't scare her the least. She was lying through her teeth, but one couldn't tell.

"He's just a little shy. I don't think he's ever seen a tribble before." Pippi let Mister Nilsson run up and sit on her shoulder again.

Well. I've seen quite a number of pirates around here, but none as brilliant as you. None of your answers are sensible at all, which is just how it should be. When I was your age, sensible was one of the last things I would've wanted to be.

*nods and smiles fondly at Pippi, thinking to himself that she is devastatingly cute - but also knowing that he'd never say that to her, since cute is also probably one of the last things she'd want to be as well!*

I reckon you're here to learn a bit of magic, yeah? Any particular spell or potion you're interested in the most?

Pippi perked up. "There are pirates here? I'm going to be a pirate when I grow up, you know. Just like my dad. And pirates aren't supposed to be sensible!"

"Magic's cool. Once I got this orb thing from a gypsy lady in Acapulco... But I've forgotten how to use it. That was very unpractical, 'cause I could really have used some magic to find my dad, who had gotten himself kidnapped by mean pirates. So is there some spell that makes you find lost people? It might be handy to have for the next time I have to rescue my dad."

"Oh, there are many pirates here, yes. And if you want to meet a pirate, perhaps you should send an owl to the Flying Spaghetti Monster. He's this bloke who's made entirely out of meatballs and pasta, with a good helping of sauce, and he flies around talking about the environment and trying to get people to be pirates, something like that. Just tell him Sirius Black told you about him. And if you like, you can call him 'Boyardee'. It's a nickname of sorts. He can help you become a pirate, if that's what you fancy ( ... )

((Would Sirius mind if Pippi gave him a hug? I warn you, she's very, very, VERY strong. ^_^))

"Send an owl?" asked Pippi with a tilted head. "What good would that do? Oh, does this Flying Spaghetti Monster person have a pirate hat?" she wanted to know next. "And an eyepatch and a hook and a wooden leg and a parrot on one shoulder? Does he have shoulders?"

Pippi grinned broadly. "Yeah! That's a real good thing to have! I'll buy those and send one to my dad so he'll know where I am! You're very smart!"

"Nuh-uh, haven't seen any magic. I think. I dunno if I would recognize real magic if I saw it, though, so I'm not sure." Pippi liked this man. "Can you do magic?"

Pippi looked at the strange creature in front of her. "...We had a parrot on my father's ship that sounded like you."

Homsar blibbled joyfully around Pippi, his bowler hat doing 360s above his head. "Look out below, I just might be wiggedy wack! Kashooooooooooo!"

Pippi laughed. This reminded her of a time two pirates had come up to her and started talking in their native tongue. She wasn't very sure, but now that she thought of it she believed that they had been laughing at her braids. Which was okay. They had been laughing when they did it, so she assumed they'd enjoyed themselves.

"Oh really? That's very interesting!" she grinned.

"Hey, kid!" Ron grinned. "Seem a bit young for the school, but most of us are too old, so that evens it out. Do you have anyone to take care of you, though? Because you seem like a Gryffindor to me, but if you need it I'll send you to Hufflepuff. I have a lot of girl friends (well, one actual girlfriend) there, so they'd keep an eye out for you."

He blinked, unsure. "Don't know how much Prima likes kids, though..."

Pippi laughed a little. She liked Ron already, and not only because he had red hair like her. "Hah! I can take care of myself, thank you. There was one lady once who tried to put me in an orphanage. Sent the police after me too. I like policemen! But they wanted to take me away from my house, so I climbed up on the roof and played with them for a bit, and then they gave up 'cause they got scared when I picked up Little Old Man over my head."

Ron smiled, not believing a word of it. "Oh wow, that seems tough. You really showed her, huh?" Then his face got a bit serious. "You... don't you have a mum or dad?"

It's interesting that people here tend to believe her when she's lying through her teeth, but thinking she's lying when she's actually telling the truth. Eh, Pippi doesn't dwell.

Her smile never left her face. "Sure I got a mum and dad! My dad is the king of the cannibals on Kurrekurredutt Island, and my mother's an angel and is looking after me through a little hole in the sky."

Hermione stared at the girl. She was like a young Lily only more so. "Er, hello." she said after several awkward moments. "I'm Hermione."

Pippi looked at Hermione. The brown-haired girl reminded her strongly of Annika, so therefore Pippi liked her immediately.

"Hello Hermione!" she said and grabbed her hand, shaking it vigorously. "My name is Pippi! And this is Mister Nilsson." She nodded towards the monkey, who screeched something that might be a greeting.

Hermione looked slightly frozen at the sheer madness that surrounded this kid, and allowed her arm to be shaken vigerously for several seconds. She smiled. "What nice names!" she nervously held a hand out to the monkey. "Nice to meet you Mister Nilsson."

"I think they're nice too!" proclaimed Pippi proudly. "And I think Hermione is awfully pretty, but I wouldn't want to be called that because then there would be two Hermiones around and then where would we be?"

Mister Nilsson screeched again and climbed up on Pippi's shoulder. She frowned at him. "Silly Mister Nilsson..." She turned to Hermione. "It's nothin' personal. He's just a bit nervous 'cause of all the people about."
