Pippi Longstocking, from those books/movies/TV-shows and so on.

Enter a nine-year old girl, her vividly orange/red hair in two braids protruding from her head underneath a large black pirate hat with a white skull and two crossed bones. She's wearing a blue and red dress and mismatching socks. On her feet she is wearing a pair of boots twice as long as her feet. Her freckly face is grinning widely. On her ( Read more... )

Pippi looked at the strange creature in front of her. "...We had a parrot on my father's ship that sounded like you."

Homsar blibbled joyfully around Pippi, his bowler hat doing 360s above his head. "Look out below, I just might be wiggedy wack! Kashooooooooooo!"

Pippi laughed. This reminded her of a time two pirates had come up to her and started talking in their native tongue. She wasn't very sure, but now that she thought of it she believed that they had been laughing at her braids. Which was okay. They had been laughing when they did it, so she assumed they'd enjoyed themselves.

"Oh really? That's very interesting!" she grinned.

Now that Homsar thought about it, this board game piece looked a lot like one of the pieces from Chutes and Ladders. This place just kept getting better and better! With that rhinoceros here, and then Mr. Bucket, and perhaps a cousin of a Chutes and Ladders game piece, Homsar couldn't imagine how it could possibly get any better - unless Jenga itself were to show up.

Oh, what a joyful day that would be! For a moment, Homsar lost himself in fantasy.

Then, snapping back to attention, he levitated several feet in the air, dropped back down and said, "DaaaAAAAaaaAAAAaaaAAAA! When it rains, it roars! HEEEEEEEEEEEE-ooooooooooooo!"

Pippi followed him with her eyes as he flew up and down, her grin never leaving her face.

"Yeah, you're probably right!"

Nothing but the best for a Chutes and Ladders piece, or at least a relative of one. Homsar exuberantly stated his vote. And if the piece wanted to learn pluttification, well, of course he would instruct her well.

Never mind that he hadn't a clue what pluttification was - or even Arithmancy, for that matter.

But Jenga was the universal problem solver. He would more than make do.

Pippi pecked Homsar on the head and curtsied politely. "Thank you!" she said brightly.

Professor Homsar! I did not see you were already here. I had told this young applicant of your prowess in Arithmancy. She says she has come to Hogwarts to study 'pluttification', which I should think would be your bailiwick.

It was Sidewalk Sam! Homsar blibbled about happily before his entire body suddenly picked itself up into the air and did a 360, his head as the pivot point.

There was only one thing to say on an occasion such as this.

"Slide slide slippity-slide! When you're living in a city, it's do or die! Kashooooooooooooooo!"

The meaning, of course, was crystal clear.
