Seconding what Smaug-mun said, re: monster attacks. Ancalagon and Starscream are both available to cause mass destruction or something like a fly-by scare. I'm open to cracky ideas too.

Starscream as a camerabot would be pretty funny, but I'm not sure he'd willingly do it. Maybe with the right incentive... which is something I can't think of, at the moment. Could be a terrible idea anyway, as he'd probably harass everyone involved and make things difficult.

Starscream the biased referee who's out to piss off as many people as possible? XD There's probably a better person for that job. Just tossing ideas out.

Starscream as a biased referee sounds kind of awesome XD Plus he may be one of the only entities at Hogwarts who ought to be able to cow Andrew Jackson's floating head. We were thinking we ought to have a referee team, who can argue with one another's calls.

Depending on how well Ari and Starscream get on (I owe a tag :( I suck!) maybe Starscream would be interested in participating either to indulge her (if they get along well) or to irritate her (if they get along badly)? Ditto for a camerabot. A harassing camerabot could be hugely amusing. Especially if anyone tries to get frisky.

Either role's fine with me! He could fill in wherever another character is needed, or wherever would be the most amusing. If anyone does try getting frisky on camera, Starscream's disgust would be fun. He'd want to hose them down (or do something more violent, with mun permission), thus ruining the parts of the show that the Baron would no doubt have liked best. That's one way to ensure the show remains child-friendly.

I assume either role wouldn't be too RP-intensive? Wouldn't want to hold things up with my slow replies. If it'd only require Starscream stepping in every now and then, and/or randomly heckling the contestants, I could do that.

I'm also fine handwaving the rest of the Ari/Starscream thread for convenience, if we work out an ending for it. I'm inclined to say he gets along with Ari, as much as he can with any human that he's just met -- which could facilitate his involvement with the reality show, like you mentioned.

That would make Starscream the BEST cameraman. :D

I will try to tag back as Ari, actually, if you don't mind the slowness of my posting. It's interesting to confront Ari with something she can't pretend to understand.

I don't mind slow tagging at all, considering that's the pace I'm working at lately. And that's the only reason why I didn't volunteer a character as a contestant... I'd have a hard time keeping up.

I second the awesomeness of Starscream as a biased referee. XD

I'd have fun with either role, so keep Starscream in mind for them. :D If enough other characters volunteer to be refs, that'll make the decision easy.

I'd rather not play a contestant in an event like this, as I won't really have time for it, but I'm happy to help "behind the scenes". So if there's any low-RP positions that Skwisgaar would be good for, either as a human or merman... Otherwise I imagine he and Toki will just be in the audience to support the Shoggies.

Maybe at the very end when the winner's announced, Dethklok could be paid to provide a live soundtrack? Might be fun. (And it could pretty much be handwaved.)

I do think that Vlad would indeed ask Skwisgaar if Dethklok wanted to provide some music. =D After all, he's biased, and would want to give Skwis first opportunity to benefit from the marketing opportunity.

Hahaha, he'll also have a fit about Starscream's camera work, to be sure. XD

I like that idea. It could also be a good preview of sorts for Vlad and Valentine, if this takes place before their wedding.

The camerawork is sure to be a hilarious mess, and Starscream won't be sorry. XD He'll make a much better space transport than camerabot, provided his reality show hijinks won't sour Vlad on that idea of Jasper's.

This will indeed take place before the wedding. Ideally, Vlad would try and talk Skwis into the Real Hogwarts theme song too. XD

I doubt that Starscream's frustrating performance as a camerabot will detract from the space-trip. Vlad is sure pitch a fit, but, Starscream -is- a machine and wasn't really designed for camera work. Massive firepower can make up for so much. =D

Smaug-mun's given the okay to handwave Pickles and Nathan's involvement in the theme song writing process -- as long as Dethklok are paid in some way for it, per Nathan's insistence (and presumably via Ofdensen's counsel). Not that they need the money, obviously, they just don't work for free if they can help it. XD I imagine a good mix of interesting new drugs to try, booze, and gold would suffice, and maybe something marginally more kinky for Skwisgaar ( ... )

i_am_harkonnen December 11 2010, 01:36:51 UTC
Haha, that works- not that Vlad'll pay out gold from his own pocket. He'll of course make use of the Maury Povich Immemorial Fund, what with the Hat insisting on the spectacle, making the expense an easy one to write off. =D And of course, Vlad would want to 'thank' Skwisgaar privately. XD

I expect I'd fail at attempting to write the theme-song lyrics, heheh, but can try! I could easily envision the Sorting Hat insisting on writing the lyrics itself.

Vlad and Valentine will of course be delighted to pick out a city for Starscream to demonstrate on. XD And would be delighted by the news coverage! Of course, I also doubt they'd realize it if Jasper gave Starscream coordinates that would at least avoid the main population centre of it. =D Vlad would be all up for exploding some asteroids too, just for the entertainment value of Really Big Explosions.

Kaylee could be a contestant, but I guarantee the second she sees Starscream, she's going to forget about the game and spend her time climbing (literally) all over him doing random fixes.

Am I supposed to discourage this? :P It could be a funny way for them to meet. Even though Cybertronians are supposed to be vastly advanced beyond (21st century) human technology, some aspects seem universal, to where tech savvy humans are able to mess them up and/or help repair them. And I've already joked with Smaug-mun and Toki-mun about Kaylee being a likely candidate for some awkward robotic infatuation.

Oh no, just fair warning that she won't care one bit about any competition once she sees him. :)

Since Kaylee's mechanical skills seem to almost be instinctive, I imagine she'll be able to puzzle out aspects of his build as she goes, at least to some degree. And robotic infatuation? Hilarious.
