Before he became a vampire. Man, that's a disturbing parallel. "Um, is vampirism requisite here?"

"Oh, no, no no, I accidentally became a vampire!"

Like that made it any better.

"Oh." Yeah, that doesn't make it much better at all. This is where the awkward silence starts.

"Um," I hold out my hand. Vampire or no, manners are important. "I'm Zack."

"I'm George!" he said, grinning and shaking Zack's hand with his cold one. "So when are you from? You certainly don't look like anything from my time period!"

Yeesh, it's like shaking hands with an ice statue. But I grin through it. "I'm from Midgar, well, originally from Gongaga, year 1997."

[tallyhopippip]

"I've never heard of Midgar! What is 1997 like? Any different from now?" He neglected to mention that it was 2010.

[soldierfair]

"Can't really say; I haven't been here long enough to see what's been going on. Last thing I remember is Breaking out of Shinra." And being shot to death, but that didn't bear repeating.

"I've never heard of Shinra either! I was in Belgium when I came here. Me and the captain and Baldrick and Captain Darling were just about to join the big push!" And then he died, but he doesn't realize that.
