I am not a bloodbender! It's magic!

Yeah, Wishbone's still bitter about that.

"What...? Oh!" Ty Lee said, having needed a moment to locate the speaker. Hey! Talking... um... dog-something! She dropped down into an easy crouch, resting her hands on her knees. "Did someone call you a bloodbender? Isn't that, like, really really rare? You look too nice to be a bloodbender, anyway!"

[woocha]

Yeah! Some mean guy named Sokka. I was just proving that magic was real when he wouldn't believe me when I turned into a cat!

Ty Lee perked up, if it was possible to be any perkier than she'd been before. In some people, such a feat might not have been possible, but she managed it. "Sokka's here? Tall guy, really tan, cute smile?"

[woocha]

Yeah. Stupid him.

Wishbone doesn't like him.

[circusfreak_tl]

"Sokka's not so bad, he's just a little rough around the edges, I think," she said with a shrug. "I'm sorry he called you a bloodbender, though! Sometimes I think he isn't really that smart."

[woocha]

I told him! It was magic, see? Wishbone said while he did his dog-to-cat trick.

[circusfreak_tl]

"Wow! I've never seen anything like that before! That's really clever!"

[woocha]

Yeah! And it's real magic, see? And he walked right up to Ty Lee, demanding pettings.

He's been hanging around the cats too much.

[circusfreak_tl]

Ty Lee shifted to sit cross legged on the floor, and obligingly reached out to pet Wishbone. "I can see! Are you some kind of spirit?"

[woocha]

No, I'm just a dog! I'm Wishbone! he said, closing his eyes as he's petted.

[circusfreak_tl]

"My name's Ty Lee," she replied. "I've never heard of any kind of dog that could do that. But then, I guess I haven't really heard of a spirit that could, either!"

[woocha]

That's cause I learned a spell that turns animals into other animals! And since I'm one, I can use it on myself!

[circusfreak_tl]

"Wow! How did you learn it?"

[woocha]

I read it in a book. And one of the other students helped me with it.

[circusfreak_tl]

Ty Lee reached around to scratch Wishbone a little harder behind the ear. "Could I learn, um, 'spells' like that?"
