[Sock] Roomies
Fuuka breathed a sigh of relief as Aigis and Koromaru left the room, newly-christened denizens of Hufflepuff. (Not that a hat would stop a determined dog or robot, but still.)
"Come on!" Fuuka said, taking Aigis's hand and leading them both in the right direction.
Aigis couldn't help smiling, seeing Fuuka a lot happier than when they found her. "And how will Koro-chan be able to use magic?" she asked as they made their way.
"I...didn't think of that. Maybe, once I learn a bit more, we could find a way for him to use his Evoker as his wand."
Koromaru barked his approval. Wands equaled sticks for him, so he was reluctant to have one.
Aigis blinked as they passed through the Hufflepuff common room. "It's rather...yellow."
"Yes, it is," Fuuka admitted. "I promise my room isn't as yellow." She opened the door. It was a lot more colorful, Aigis would give her that, with plenty of softer colors. Over on her little table were some books, and she even had a chair to sit in when the floor got uncomfortable.
"It is very pretty, Fuuka."
"Yes, well." Fuuka knelt at her table. "Koro-chan could sleep in my bed, if he wants..." Koromaru barked in agreement, "and...hm..."
"I do not really need to rest."
"Still, I'd feel reassured knowing you have a place nearby."
Aigis sat down in the chair. "This will do. I will be fine here." Fuuka smiled in agreement.
Koromaru looked up at Fuuka imploringly, then at Aigis, who suddenly looked uncomfortable. "What?" Fuuka asked.
"What happened?"
Fuuka's smile dropped. "What do you mean?"
"A man we met at our sorting said someone harmed you."
Fuuka looked away. "I...someone did, but I don't want to talk about it right now Aigis."
Koromaru whimpered and stuck his head under Fuuka's hand. Aigis was unsure: in her studying of humans, she found that sometimes it was a bad thing to press on something before the human was ready, but other times it was the only way to move on.
"Fuuka." She knelt awkwardly next to Fuuka. "I will not ask anymore for now, but someday I would like to know so I can help you."
"Just stay with me for now, Aigis, that's all I ask."
"Then that is what I'll do."
