"Since taking the test, I have been.. weakened," he whispered bitterly. "I have little strength." Being forced to rely on others when his own body failed him was a constant reminder of his own inadequacies and it rankled him.
A coughing fit nearly doubled the slim man over. When he was able to straighten, he wiped blood from his lips. "And there is the cough," he managed.

"Lung damage? I.. I do not know," he admitted. "The test nearly killed me, but I know little of the healing arts, so I fear I will be of little help in assessing the damage."

He didn't feel the need to mention he was actually a neurologist by training and specialization, not an otolaryngologist. He had a feeling those terms wouldn't mean much to this wizard-robed man who spoke of an ominous test bringing on illness. Anyway, it wasn't like Hook had no competency in general medicine.
"I'll confer with Professor Snape about it, too, if you don't mind. In the meantime, I can ease the coughing and the attendant discomfort. Sit here and see what you can produce, and I'll be right back." He had to get the medicine from his locked store of Muggle stuff.

By the time the doctor had returned, Raistlin had a bloody looking sample for him. "I do not mind," he whispered, his eyes were closed, his skin sheened with sweat. "Is there something you think you can do about it?"

"Toward alleviating your symptoms, I'd suggest these." He presented the items to Raistlin in order:
"Any questions?"

Again, he had no idea what he was taking, but the healer seemed competent enough and he was willing to try a different series of cures if it could rid him of the damnable cough. Raistlin gave a small bow to the doctor and left.
