Well. Sweden HAD been going to get something to lessen the swelling after his hand slipped and he hammered his thumb.

He came into the hospital wing and got one look at Hook, though. He actually meant his glare this time.

Hook suspected nothing.

"Can I help you?"

"Y're D'n'sh." Sweden did not like the Danish. Though honestly, he's blaming the children for the parent's actions. Metaphorically.

"Yes, I am." Hook's reply was mild and matter-of-fact.

[nordic_stoic]

"D'nt like D'nes much. Too arr'g'nt. Jus' like y'r fatherl'nd." God, the memories.

"What gives you that idea?" Hook raised an eyebrow. The guy might be trying to get his goat, but Hook was more inclined to see the humor in such situations.

"Us'd t'be under D'nm'rk. 'e was controlling. 'e w'ndt listen to me or F'nl'nd. We ran away c'se of him."

Ooooookay, then. "The entire country, eh?"

Sweden nodded. "S'why I d'nt like him. He tried t's'bjug'te me."

Sometimes it was best to humor madmen, if their madness was mild enough. Other times you needed to put a quick stop to it. Hook hadn't yet decided which was the case here. "Would it help if I assured you not all Danes want to subjugate you? You're really not my type, and I like to keep the doctor-patient relationship strictly professional."

"We'd be a pretty poor infirmary if we didn't." Hook went to fetch the proper medicaments. As he did so, he remarked, over his shoulder: "Never knew the Kalmar Union was so kinky. So are you Norway or Sweden in this scenario?"

"Denmark's aftershave, most likely," said Hook with a straight face. "Maybe a liking for brennivin."

Sweden shrugged. He still thought Norway was a bit of a glutton for punishment. Then again, with what he bred, maybe he felt he had to.

"You know, I know a guy who comes from you. He's not the most modest person in the world. There's one hell of a malpractice case being brought up against him, and a justified one at that. Do you ever feel guilty that your citizens can be such blowhards?" He handed Sweden an ice pack.
