Kurama-Chan's Hogwarts Adventure (Open RP)

Mar 14, 2009 15:03

Being quite small (in fact, standing next to his adult self, he would barely come up to his older version's knees) Kurama-chan was able to sneak through crawlspaces and secret passageways that most people in Hogwarts didn't even know existed ( Read more... )

Teru was also lost. He was sure he'd been going the right way to the Great Hall, but the corridor seemed to have moved. Although it was probably just that he'd gone the wrong way, of course. Corridors didn't change places.

...on the other hand, this was a magic school.

He hoped he'd just got lost.

He stopped walking when he saw Kurama, startled. This was the first time he'd seen anyone at Hogwarts who was younger than he was.

Kurama was absorbed in a conversation with a very old man in one of the paintings. He had no idea what the old man was talking about, but it was better than nothing. His overlarge ears twitched when he heard someone approaching, and he grinned widely when he saw Mikami.

"Hi," he greeted, albeit a little shyly.

"Hello." He bowed slightly. "I'm sorry, I don't remember if I know you. My name is Mikami Teru."

"I'm Kurama," he replied, still a little shy. He'd never seen a human so close to his age before. At least, not from a distance. Normally they just threw things and ran.

Amaranth was bouncing and jiggling down the hall as per usual when she noticed Kurama-chan.

She drew up to him and smiled warmly. "Hello there, sweetie," she said in a friendly voice. "Are you lost?"

Kurama blinked up at her, completely unfased by her nudity. At least she wasn't half-bird or snake or something. In fact, she seemed rather nice and normal. And she smelled like growing, which was always a plus.

"I came in through there," he said, pointing to the crawlspace he'd emerged from. "I was walking with Kusuriyuri, but I wandered..." he trailed off, looking a little sheepish. "Are you a Sennyo?"

Amaranth knelt down next to Kurama so he could look her in the eye. "You could say that," she said. "They call me a serial nymph. My name's Amaranth." She reached out to tousle his hair, presuming he would let her. "Do you want to find Kusuriyuri again, or are you just happy exploring for now?"

Kurama was quite happy with hair-touseling; it was like being petted. Especially good if he got ear scratches out of it, too. "I like exploring, and I can find Kusuriyuri. He has my I-love-you-very-much."

"Now, what's a little squib like you doing here? You can get yourself lost."

"I'm not a squib," He says indignantly. "I'm a kitsune! And I'm going to be very strong someday."

"Oh." Ace only vaguely heard of kitsune (cause the future is very British.) "But you're still little and could get lost easily. Come with me, we'll find where you're going together."

Well, Ace seemed like a rather nice grown-up human, so Kurama decided it wouldn't be terrible to follow him. "We were going to look around and then find food... but not the food in the big room, 'cause it's cursed."

Sasuke had the opposite problem. Though he'd originally been older than his physical age of 12 had reflected, now his physical age was slightly more in line with his actual age. It was extremely disconcerting, and what was worse, he had no idea how long the effect might last.

But it was both strange and kind of fun, being so tall-taller even than Yukimura, now, probably by quite a few inches. And he was lean; there were muscles where there hadn't been before. He hadn't yet made it to a mirror to see what his face looked like, but was presumably on his way to do just that when he came across the wee kitsune.

He paused, and slowly backed up a couple steps. Kitsune? Kurama was the only kitsune at Hogwarts, he'd thought. Turning, he looked down at the kid.

"Youko-san?" he asked in disbelief, a little startled by the sound of his own changed voice.

'Youko' was a title that Kurama (at this stage of his very young life) wasn't even remotely qualified for, but something made him look all the same. A memory of the future, you could call it. He stared up at the tall man - the imposing tall man, may it be added - and felt a tiny twinge of fear. He smelled strong, and was carrying weapons. Humans with weapons were often quite unkind to kitsune. Kurama backed away a little, ears drooping and tail bushing out.

"I'm.... Kurama," he said, not sure if it was right to give his name. But then, if he didn't, the human could become angry, which was bad news all over.

Sasuke knelt down, hands on his thighs where Kurama could see them, hoping to seem less imposing. He couldn't help but smile in amusement. "Guess I get to call you Kurama-kun now, huh?"

He didn't make any attempt to approach the kitsune, knowing all too well it might cause him to run. "It's all right," he said gently. "You must have eaten cursed food too. Normally you're the one who's way too tall and looking down at me."

Kurama relaxed just a little, though he didn't go near quite yet. "You're one of my friends I don't remember yet?"

"So, even you got into the food," Yukimura said as he happened upon the kit. He didn't quite laugh, but it was there, lingering in his voice.

Samurai! Oh, samurai were dangerous, even more so than Sasuke-san. Kurama scampered away to hide behind one of the suits of armor, his tail once again giving him away.

"Ah, now, Kurama," he laughed. "If you're wanting to hide, that magnificent tail will have to go first and then the rest of you into the hiding hole." He walked around to where he could see the kit. "Why hide, though? We are friends."

"Samurai hunt foxes and then we burn their houses down," he said, a little frantically. No way was he friends with a Samurai, they hated kitsune! Well, most of the time. And this particular one seemed very familiar, but still!
