Old-fashioned holiday mush ((Closed RP for Grant/Laura))

Any Christmas that started out with socks was going to be a good one. Grant was one of five people in the world who liked getting socks, because they were useful, and he didn't have to spend his own money on them. Unlike the grandmothers of the world, though, he understood that giving socks was a generally bad idea. Nothing quite says, 'I'm ready for this relationship to be over' like giving socks to your girlfriend.

Jewelry, on the other hand, was probably going to be a hit.

He'd put the two jewelry boxes into one larger box, and wrapped the whole thing with a nice bow. He'd given Laura a bracelet before, but that had some specific meaning, and he'd found that picking out a gift just for its decorative value much harder. Grant really had no clue about what made an accessory good, so he'd put a lot of work into picking out something nice.

Then again, he probably could have just gotten her a candy necklace and she'd appreciate it, so he was worrying for nothing.

He knocked on her door in Hufflepuff. Either way, it was going to be a good day. Pleasant company and a holiday atmosphere made even this perpetual Scrooge relax a bit.
