*pained expression*

How does one go about getting an annulment in the Wizarding World? Anybody know?

Both Chii and Freya wish they knew. Perhaps Wizard Weddings are more ceremonial, and not legal-pending? (It is still married, but at least it's... Not fully married...)

We nothing, at least when it comes to us, Malfoy. It was all you.

Look, your dad's gotta have lawyers who can make this go away, right?

(( Well Sigyn doesn't really have speaking role in the myths. I go by sevreal sources, The Poetic Edda, The Norse myths by Kevin Crossley-Holland and umm some of the Sandman series. I've made up much of her characterization... ohh geez this sucks))

((Sorry! But since the no-real-people rule applies to gods, as well, in order to keep from offending anyone who actually worships these gods, I really do have to ask you to pick one source and stick with it. Maybe you and Loki could get together and decide on one?))

(( maybe "anything written by or quoted by Snorri Sturluson" could count as a source? *grins* ))

((I suppose so. Great, this sucks. Well, at least I didn't decide to play Jesus, that would have offended tons of people.))

(Twitches badly, over the wedding announcement)

... Chii never agreed to marry...

*Laughs* Oh, dear Chii, do not worry about such a thing. Two women cannot get married! It must be a silly little joke!

Though many marriages did seem to occur yesterday. Is it because couples wanted to be married on a holiday?

(Nods, slowly) Chii guesses... Still, Skeeter-san seems to think Chii (and Freya, much to Freya's annoyance) are Skeeter-san's Person Just for Her. People Just for Her. ... How does Chii phrase that, anyway...

Chii thinks so. That, and Kaibaman-san was acting as a priest for all the weddings (he says his weddings are legal all over the place. ... If they are, then Chii really needs to get an annulment...)

So, the question is "can two guys?" Otherwise the only legitimate marriage was Tom and Lana's.

((Basically I'm working from the version of "Eros and Psyche" from Bulfinch's Mythology, which in its turn was based primarily on a chapter in Apuleius' "The Golden Ass" and various poems that became part of canon. The Wikipedia article is decent (despite the annoying painting--though granted it's not nearly as bad as others I've seen) if you want to check detail. Psyche's personality is mostly the result of my own speculation about what the character would be like, since (in the way of fairytales) we're not told much. From canon you can basically extrapolate that she's gorgeous, curious, stubborn, persuasive, inclined to get into trouble only partially through her own fault, and devoted to her god/husband. I've also done a little bit of research into the ancient world to guess where and when she might have been born, so if you're interested I'd be glad to explain my reasoning.))

((And yes, I am an enormous geek.))

((Oh, GOOD! I'm using Lucius Apuleius' version, who wrote the Golden Ass, so it's good to know that we have the same source, more or less.))

((*g* I figured we must be, since we've been matching up pretty well all along.

Have just been rereading the Wikipedia article and noticed that they seem to have left out explaining that the reason she's almost always pictured with butterfly wings is that "Psyche" is Greek for both "butterfly" and "soul." Must go fix that sometime.))
