(Twitches badly, over the wedding announcement)

... Chii never agreed to marry...

*Laughs* Oh, dear Chii, do not worry about such a thing. Two women cannot get married! It must be a silly little joke!

Though many marriages did seem to occur yesterday. Is it because couples wanted to be married on a holiday?

(Nods, slowly) Chii guesses... Still, Skeeter-san seems to think Chii (and Freya, much to Freya's annoyance) are Skeeter-san's Person Just for Her. People Just for Her. ... How does Chii phrase that, anyway...

Chii thinks so. That, and Kaibaman-san was acting as a priest for all the weddings (he says his weddings are legal all over the place. ... If they are, then Chii really needs to get an annulment...)

So, the question is "can two guys?" Otherwise the only legitimate marriage was Tom and Lana's.

"Two guys?" Married? *She laughs* Oh, what a jest! Of course, I have noticed that Hogwarts is quite different from my home in Highbury... *She stops to giggle a bit more* So perhaps you have different rules! Oh... oh my! I am quite looking forward to the time Professor Dumbledore is with child! *Falls into giggles once more*

((And this from a character that has a Canadian player. Oh, Emma. *Shakes head*))

But... Miss Lang and Mr. Riddle? I did not hear from my dear Ginny that they were involved.

Hi, Emma!

It was kind of sudden. Basically, Tom went mad. Well, madder, I guess. Didn't you see him turning the Castle pink for her?

The rules are different here, I think. I guess I could owl my dad about it. He works at the Ministry of Magic.

Oh. Then the magical world truly is different from what I am used to.

Oh yes, and Ginny, I am truly glad that you have spoken to me. I wish to be able to send warded letters, such as the kind you sent to me. Could you possibly teach me, or shall I try my hand in it on my own?

I'd be glad to teach you, Emma. I think it will be easy for you, since you're very smart. First you make sure you've got parchment that's receptive to being warded. Any new parchment is, but you want to be sure it's not some you've borrowed or that was left out -- someone might have put an anti-warding charm on it. If you're sure about the parchment you start by placing a reveal charm on it, just for one person like this:

*waves wand over some parchment*

Admitterio Emma Woodhouse

Then you seal from everyone else like this:

*waves wand over it again*

celarea totalis

Then you seal it as usual and let the owl take it to whoever you were sending it to. If someone else finds it, it will look like a blank piece of parchment, and no spell they try will reveal the contents.

There are stronger wards you can put on them, including some that will hurt anyone who tries to even touch the parchment unless they're who it was warded for. But that's dark magic, and I'm sure you don't want to know about that!

((Totally making this up here

Oh, of course not. I am not even enrolling in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Sweet Ginny, you truly are a fantastic help. I only hope I can one day be of the same service to you.

*She clears her throat and gets out her wand, carefully waving it over the parchment*
Admitterio Lord Peter Wimsey

*Waves the wand*
celarea totalis

*She feels a surge run through her, and then seals it, looking it over*
Do you suppose it worked?

((No problem! Seems JKRian to me. ^_^ ))

Glad I could help, Emma!

Not taking Defense Against the Dark Arts? Well, considering who's teaching it this year, that makes sense. Usually it's the most important class to take, so you're protected. Fortunately, I know a bit of it myself, and have Harry to help me with the rest.

*looks at the parchment*

*smiles, happy that Emma's such a quick study*

It probably did. Why don't you try writing something that you wouldn't mind anyone seeing on it, maybe today's date, or something, and we'll see if I can read it.

((I think she makes them up on the fly, as well!))

*Her face puts on a comical edge as she quickly writes down RDEW, folding it and reciting the chant with Ginny's name, and then warding the letter. She then seals it and hands it to Ginny, playing with her wand as she hides her nervousness*

Now we shall see.

*takes the parchment and looks at it, then waves her wand over it*

effregio signum

*the parchment opens, and Ginny is able to read RDEW*

RDEW? *slight giggle* What does that mean? Oh, it has your initials in it! Now who or what could RD be?

Oh, I am just being comical. A gentleman shot up the Ravenclaw common room yesterday with that. It seems that he has a bit of an infatuation with me.

I am not taking it seriously, of course. But it is somewhat flattering. I am just grateful he has not learned of any middle names.

*with a big, big smile* Oh, I think you have a new boyfriend, Emma! I was only in the Ravenclaw commonroom off and on. I was trying to help my roommate not do something incredibly stupid.

*checks the school roster*

*thinking to herself -- Ran ... no, she said it was a man, so not Ran. Or Rose. But Emma and Rose would be a pretty couple ... I'll have to be sure to invite Rose to our tea so they can meet ... Roland - don't know his last name. That's a possibility ... Rincewind ... probably not ... that new boy, Richie? Doesn't seem like the type to shoot guns and there's no D ... Ryuuzaki, no, that's L ... um, River ... obviously not Professor Lupin ... RD could be for Riddle but Tom was otherwise occupied yesterday ... Gotta be Roland*

So, the gunslinger, hmmmm? That is flattering. He's quite handsome. Are you going to see him again?

You don't like your middle name? Mine's Molly, after my mum. I'm sure yours is something very pretty, just like your first name.

Handsome in a grim, tall, disorderly way, I suppose. Of course I refused him; there is utterly no chance of me accepting a proposal. But I shall see him again, in friendship. He helped me repair the damage he did, just this morning.

It is Jane. *She wrinkles her nose, but smiles* But that is not way I am glad he does not know it. I am just happy we had to fill in only four letters. Hopefully he wont be so silly as to do such a thing again.

*She pauses* It was so strange. I had never seen him before, until yesterday. I don't know how he gained such adoration.

Oh, now that's a nice description. Tall and disorderly! *winks* Well, of course you shouldn't get engaged on a first date. *thinks of Tom, married to that Sue Scum Lana and gets pale and just a little angry looking* I'm glad you got to know someone new, though. He might turn out to be a very good friend, or more!

Jane's a pretty name. Emma Jane Woodhouse. That sounds quite lovely. So you share it with your owl - how fun! But I see what you mean about filling in more holes.

I imagine the same thing happened to him that happened to most of the rest of the school. And that's why we have all these people married who don't want to be married. It's very sad. Whoever did this should be ashamed of themselves. Love isn't something to fool around with.
