An Excursion to Hogsmead. (Closed RP, Kusuriyuri, Kurama)

To be claimed by a kitsune was something Kusuriyuri had never anticipated. He'd heard of their ways, flighty, clinging, unsettling creatures who demanded much. Manipulative and conniving, twisting everything until they got their way.

Yet, the Kurama that came to him in need of reassurance was nothing like that. Everything he'd learned of the redheaded kitsune had made him feel more at ease, more sure he'd made the right decision in allowing the kitsune to claim him, in claiming the kitsune himself.

He took a deep breath, watching the school grounds from near the gate. Dancing on a tsunami seemed as apt for his current situation as it was for A's. To step carefully on the rippling waves that change his life so much. He does not regret the changes or the things that are being swept away, though. How could he regret the appearance of joy? He'd almost forgotten what it was, if he were honest with himself. Truth was something he insisted upon, even to himself. And, the truth was that he longed for joy.

There were stories among the youkai of those who were fated. He didn't believe them. They were only the form of regrets of a people who lived their lives in treachery. To find one who would not and could not betray you lest they lose their own life was rather appealing to one who lived by the methods of backstabbing and betrayal. At least, until they realized that they would not be able to backstab or betray. Then it was placed comfortably in the place of 'legend' and 'fable.' Something so easily dismissed, so easily turned aside when it was inconvenient.

And, yet, his answer to Kurama's question of 'why' reflected that story. 'It's what is done,' the way things should be. Perhaps his doubt in those 'fables' is to be doubted? Or is is something nonessential, something that under examination ceases to exist?

He could see the form of his shirogitsune approaching. He scattered his thoughts for examination later.
