It's the second anniversary of
hogwarts_hocus! Confetti and cupcakes all around, and much love for all the players who have made this comm the bastion of cracky fun it is.
This year the HHversary is more lowkey. We do have a schoolwide RP up for those who'd like. The major thing we're announcing, though, is that we've acted on player suggestions to create an out-of-character community for plotting and other game-related communication:
h_h_ooc !
We've been reluctant to do this for a while, because we know OOC communities/forums can become serious wank generators in other games. Therefore we've devised some ground
rules we want to keep clear from the outset. It's not that we anticipate problems. We're sure y'all can stay mellow and don't want to cause us headaches. But we want to make it clear exactly what this comm is for and what it isn't for. It is for coordinating plots, introducing yourself, posting fanworks, letting people know you're going on hiatus -- all that good stuff. It's not for fangirling or dissing one another or one another's characters/plots. We remain firmly committed to our policy of "don't like, don't read."
That having been said, we definitely see the need for a comm where people can communicate OOCly without having to e-mail around or delve into IRC. Some people don't have IRC access; others just aren't on IRC that often. We still love our IRC channel (and encourage you to join it -- #hogwarts_hocus on esper.net, baybee!) but man does not live by IRC alone.
So. Membership to the OOC comm is now officially open! You don't have to join it. You don't have to friend it. But if you want to, you can. It's where stuff like hiatus announcements and awesome pictures of Homsar will now go.
Happy anniversary,
hogwarts_hocus! Happy anniversary to you! Also, happy unbirthday.
