((OOC Note: Ralph and Dolores, the stuffed dog and doll, are animated toys. They are animated and given 'life' by Violet's own soul and magic; so they're little more than puppets that can move and talk because of a spell, and not separate characters.))

I had been having a very odd few days. Being turned into a vampire would put a damper on most girl's weeks, sure, but the fact that I - quite reasonably, no matter what Ivy and Peter thought - refused to take any blood was playing havoc with my sanity. Whatever sanity I had. Which hadn't been much, let's be honest, but it'd been mine and I missed it ( ... )

"It's a temporary vampire," Dolores cackled, her teeth grinding together in a screech.

Ralph snorted in confusion, his furred eyebrows rising. "What do you mean, temporary? I thought that it was pretty much permanent."

"I mean she used to be a Witch, but now she's a vampire. Won't last," the doll sing-songed, turning oddly knowing glass eyes onto Rachel. "Being driven crazy by being too good for taking blood."

Violet frowned, and sharply raised an eyebrow. Sniffing once determined that this chick had demon marks - as if her aura didn't show it clearly enough - only two. Violet's arms were still bared, showing the myriad overlap of her own marks, marks she wore with pride and amusement. "Funny. I used to kill and sleep with people like you. Oh, wait. I still do," Violet giggled. "Sometimes at the same time."

"Don't know that," I muttered to myself, brow furrowing in distaste. "Don't know. No idea. Talking out of turn, little doll. Break your face with my heel to stop the talking."

My eyes flared to black at Violet's words and I could feel the liquid smooth aura of my vamp senses taking over. I oozed over to Violet, my finger trailing a line around the woman's neck as I circled her. "Oh, cookie," I breathed against her neck, standing behind her. "I think you wouldn't be able to handle either with me."

Pheromones were pumping out, beyond my control, licking the air, pulling at Violet's will. Then I sneered at the doll. "Not too good. You talk a lot for something stuffed."

"Oh, look. It's got an attitude," Ralph sighed, curling up on the floor and burying his muzzle in his paws. Dolores sniffed and sat next to him, looking out over the room.

Violet had dealt with enough vampires to know when they were pulling an aura on her, and she loved it. "Trying to trick me into wanting you? For a temp, you've got a lot of metaphorical balls." Despite her words, she smiled at the touch, not trying to pull away. "You vampires are all the same. Never can get someone to like you, so you resort to pulling an aura to manipulate them into it." Violet ran a hand up her stocking-clad thigh, stopping just short of where they ended. "Not that I mind."

"You want me," I said with a confidence that I'd never had as a witch. I was dressed for hunting, almost without realizing it, and my eyes were half-lidded now with the arrogant tilt of someone who knew that they were going to get exactly what they wanted. "The second I walked in the room, you wanted me." My finger ran down her arm, nail digging in enough to leave a white pressure trail, traipsing off of her hand and onto her thigh ( ... )

"I want everyone that comes with a good, sharp bite. Don't flatter yourself." But there was no pretense that she didn't want this, and Violet growled low in her throat when she felt sharp teeth raking across her neck. This is what she loved, this is what got her off; encounters with the dark side. "Border of pain and pleasure, edge of ecstasy and destruction," she purred, continuing her thoughts out loud. "I love it."

Ralph and Dolores had since retreated across the room, not really wanting to witness this. Violet would thank them later for not interfering. She was jonesing for a fix, and this would do just as well.

She laughed, reaching behind her to tangle her hands in Rachel's hair, tilting her neck so that it was bared to her. "Ooh, this is going to be good," Violet giggled. "You can take me, use me, suck out my blood. Lose control if you can, because you know I want it. And then once the rush fades, you'll feel so guilty, because this isn't you." Violet might be a bit fucked in the head, but she knew her magic. "It's going to ( ... )

Heart thundering along, I lowered my lips to suck at Violet's skin. Just enough to make a mark. No teeth, just the bare hint of a bite - a promise of other things. Harder, deeper, more twisted things.

"This is me," I said in a hoarse murmur. "If I do it, then it's me. To be or not to be, to sleep and to dream. If I do this then that's who I am. Very simple."

And it was. So simple. Just taking. She wanted it. This wasn't Peter, wasn't Ivy, this meant nothing but the blood, the ecstasy, the glorious freedom. The end of the hunger that was driving me mad, was making me doubt my sanity, that was killing me in a place where no one could die. Right there. Pulsing beneath the paper thin skin.

"You forgot to ask, though," I said, taking a deep breath, "if I wanted youAnd then I was away, standing apart from her, eyes still pools of black, body still so incredibly still in that preternatural way. But not touching her. "I hate you. I hate me. I hate the back." Then I smiled, bitter and hopeless and tired. "But I want to ( ... )

"This is what happens when you date only dead people for a year, Violet," Ralph called derisively from across the room - of course he'd been watching. "They begin not to want you because you're too fucking creepy!"

Though she was disappointed, Violet didn't let it show, smiling serenely at Rachel and running a hand up her buckled corset. "You know who you are. I know who I am, sweet thing. I'm Violet Grimm. I'm the fetish witch, the dark and dirty, the whore of anything that can me a little fun," she crooned. "Go, be away. Go be good. Go live in your little fantasy world where you're still innocent." For a moment, something almost like nostalgia touched on Violet's expression, but was quickly wiped away. "Go put that girdle on and refuse to touch the darker side of life."

"That's enough, Violet." Dolores floated back over, tiny hands on her hips. "Stop baiting the good ones. Do I have to ground you?"

Pouting, Violet just looked back at Rachel. "Go be better," she continued. "You'll fall in the end. They always do."

I started to laugh. It was not a healthy sound. It was cracked lips and feverish eyes and being terrified to go home. It was loud and bitter and just this side of madness. "Too late," I gasped between sobbing heaves of sound. "Too late, too broken, too not enough for too long. Just stubborn now. Just holding on for the memory ( ... )

"Well, crazy just left," Ralph announced, shutting the video camera off. He'd been taping the whole thing from the other side of the room. "Disappointing, really. I thought it was going to get sexy."

"Me too, Ralphy," Violet shrugged, watching Rachel as she left, a glint in her eye. "Might be a sequel to this one. She needs to feed, and it looks like people aren't giving it up. Maybe I'll visit her again sometime."

The doll tutted, blinking fake eyelids and fake eyelashes in disapproval. "Don't bait her, Violet. She's trying to be better, unlike you."

"Yeah," Violet murmured. Then, she shrugged. "Oh well!" A bright smile crossed her features. "Guess she won't be getting any fun anytime soon!"
