((OOC Note: Ralph and Dolores, the stuffed dog and doll, are animated toys. They are animated and given 'life' by Violet's own soul and magic; so they're little more than puppets that can move and talk because of a spell, and not separate characters.))

"Nice look," Lady Heather said, eyeing the girl appreciatively.

Her own ensemble consisted of a corset, a black skirt and high boots, and a black lace choker.

The appreciation was returned, and Violet gave Heather a long once-over. "I'm beginning to feel under-dressed. Love the corset. Where do you shop?"

"Hooker alert," Ralph coughed into a fuzzy paw. "Like recognizes like, eh, Vile?" He was silenced with an exasperated look.

"Las Vegas, usually. I have a client who's a tailor, and he gives us an excellent discount."

She shot the stuffed animal an amused glance. "Madam alert, thank you very much. Lady Heather, proprietress of Lady Heather's Dominion. A pleasure to meet you. All of you, I suppose."

"Las Vegas? I need to get out more," Violet muttered, more to herself as a reminder than an actual reply. They didn't have the greatest tailors in Banewood.

And this would probably be the first time she'd ever met a Madam. Her face split into a grin, despite Ralph's snorting. "Likewise, Madam," she tipped her head. "Name's Violet Grimm, and this is Ralph and Dolores. How does a woman go about getting her own dominion?" No, really, she was curious. Not that she ever wanted one, her fanbase would know where to find her. "Get any trouble with the fans?"

"You work very hard, save up the money for a mansion and staff, and make damn sure you get and keep an excellent reputation in the right places," she replied.

"Not really. My house serves a pretty exclusive, and expensive, niche. Plus, we went online with Lady Heather's Domain a couple of years ago, so the fans can get a...hit...anytime they like, as long as their credit card's valid."

She tilted her head. "They put me in Slytherin, the House of the calculating types. You seem a little less - disciplined - than most of the Slytherins I've met, though. More one to let it all hang out. Or most of all of it. Am I reading you wrong?"

Storing the information away, Violet nodded seriously, tugging a little at her skirt in thought. She wanted to be bigger, more infamous, and Lady Heather obviously knew all the right ways to do it.

"I don't think you're going to get famous, Vile," Ralph cut into her thoughts. "Unless you really think a lot of people like demon snuff porn, and-"

"Shut it," Violet barked, smiling halfway apologetically at Heather. "Thanks for the advice. And you're right, I'm a let it all hang out kind of gal," she chuckled. That did tend to apply both literally and figuratively. "Though House honestly doesn't matter to me. Whatever it is, it'll be a change from my old house. Never did quite understand why the walls bled. They don't... bleed around here, do they?"

"Well, I've never heard of that, but the staircases move and the portraits talk - I'd say it's more than possible. I think I'm going to vote you for Hufflepuff, simply because I'm not sure where else to put you. You've got elements of most of the Houses I know of, but none of them seems a proper fit. And Hufflepuff does say they take all comers."

She tilted her head. "Could you tell me a bit more about the type of magic you already know? I'm new at -" she waved a hand around, indicating the castle in general. "-all this, but what I've been reading is fascinating stuff."

Moving staircases and talking portraits? Hell, that was nothing on her last house. She'd been able to end up in the basement by opening the attic door, but that had only been on Tuesdays. "Hufflepuff sounds fine."

"Another vote for Hufflepuff," Ralph cracked, fishing into a pack of cigarettes and lighting one up. "Maybe they think you're a badger, Vile. All that eye makeup, it's not surprising."

Choosing not to reply to that, Violet tipped one shoulder in a shrug. It was strange talking about her magic in a situation where she didn't have to use it for defense. "Taught myself. It's everything you can think of, doll. I throw together anything from ancient Mayans to Christians, shake and stir, brew amulets and potions. Mostly it's a lot of sex magic," she smirked. "Always powerful, that and the demons and the curses and the dimensions. Never quite know what you're going to get."

"Sex magic sounds like something I might have a certain affinity for," Heather said drily. "As far as a bribe goes - what are these jewelry items here? I assume they have some magical properties aside from just being pretty?"
