Open RP: Gothic fiction versus very modern actions

Jul 26, 2007 17:08

It's the middle of summer, and Mel likes to feel her skin being sunkissed. So one might ask themselves why she has a scarf wrapped around her neck now, even in Scotland. It completely doesn't compliment the t-shirt and jeans she's wearing.

The answer is pretty simple if you take into account the fact that she's a teenager and her boyfriend does get overenthusiastic at times (It's cute, mostly). A lovebite. That which signals the moment you become an adult in the eyes of your peers. That which all parents dread to see. That which can humiliate pirates and ninjas alike...

...okay, so that's an exaggeration. But the fact remains that Mel's embarrassed about this bruise in a conspicuous place, and has thus hidden herself outside to read where she feels she will see less people. She gets so engrossed in the novel, however, that when the scarf begins to slip, she doesn't notice one whit.
