He listened to the boy speaking, smiling in a distracted fashion at the pleasing tone and thrum of the other young man's voice. The words didn't seem to register until the word 'emperor' came up.

A new smile lit his features, and he laughed - "Wow! An emperor? At your age!! Thats really impressive!"

"I was born into it," he answered, "I suppose the only impressive thing might be that I survived long enough to take the throne. My elder brothers were all killed, it's quite surprising that I was the one to make it out alive."

"Oh! You had brothers?" He asked, smiling still though he was saddened to hear that they died. "I have one too, his name is Edward." He smiled - "My name is Alphonse. Alphonse Elric." He said unable to stop from smiling at the young man.

"Royalty, wow..." He giggled into his hand.

Larsa grinned back, perhaps a bit sadly. "I'm Larsa Solidor. I should hope your brother is more... trustworthy than mine turned out to be. Are you the eldest?"

*Demyx stares. The kid looks almost like the Keybearer would if he didn't look like a porcupine.* I hear ya about the hi-potions. The things always seemed to turn up in odd corners of my room back home.

Joyeuse, huh? Nice name. *Demyx gestures to his sitar, which is actually slung over his shoulder on a strap rather than hidden in whatever null-space it normally occupies.* My weapon hasn't got one. Maybe it should.

"Thank you," he answered courteously. "I've never seen a weapon like yours, though. I'm not sure what one might call it."

[soggynotecards]

Well, I guess it's only technically a weapon. It's a sitar. *He shifts the instrument so that it's in front of him and plucks out the opening bars of "Cheeseburger in Paradise." He pauses, and holds out a hand.* Sorry; I'm Demyx.

Larsa shook his hand in return. "Ah, so you are a bard? They're the only ones I know of who use instruments as weapons."

Nice lookin' sword. What's a hi-potion?

Larsa canted his head at the woman. Where could he possibly be that people didnt recognize hi-potions? "It heals your wounds," he replied.

Oh, a medi-potion. I gotcha. You in a position t'need healin' potions a lot where you're from?

"Not lately, but when I was traveling, I was."

[[There's a joke in here somewhere's but damned if I can find it.]]

Archadia? I've never heard of that country.

"You've never- how is that possible? Am I still in Ivalice, praytell?"

[wright_phoenix]

"Ivalice? No, this is Hogwarts."

[joyeuse_sol]

"Hogwarts? Where is that?"

"That's a very nice sword." It was a lot fancier than Needle, but looked very functional nonetheless. "Do you know how to use it?"

[joyeuse_sol]

"Thanks. I do," he said, "I spent some time traveling with a sky pirate and his crew and got to help on several hunts."

[runaway_stark]

"Sky pirate?" Her experience with pirates was mostly confined to stories of the Ironborn, and they were in the water. "How does that work?"

[joyeuse_sol]

"They captain airships instead of ships that float on the water. Do they not have them where you're from?"
