WART #71. The Insanely Perky Feel-Good Broadcast of La Sanchez.

Mar 01, 2007 21:42

Lola eagerly tapped the microphone, and unintentionally let out a vibe or two that made the equipment fizz and sparkle. "Oops!" she giggled. "Sorry about that. I'm sort of new at this stuff. Back home, I've got this friend, and he's like this big DJing genius kid. He'd be nice to have around about now." Lola sighed, but then perked up. "Reuben, if you can hear me, I need your help! In the meantime, I'm going to dedicate a song to you and Mel. And it goes out to all the people in the world as well. Angels are watching over you, remember that! Here's You Are Not Alone (lyrics) with Michael Jackson."

There was a slight giggle, as Lola had been overtaken with the hilarious mental image of the Michael that she knew - the archangel - singing the aforementioned song. When the last notes had died away she pulled herself together and chirped, "See? Not alone. And don't you forget it. Now, let's see what else there is around here..." She rummaged around the records and finally gave a little cry of delight. "Oh, cosmic! Yeah, this one is for Brice. Sorry, babe, they don't have Astral Garbage here, but this one seems to have the same feel to it. So enjoy it, and I'm really happy things are working out for you now. Took you long enough! Here's Wish I Had an Angel (lyrics) with Nightwish."

The bright, cheerful voice of Lola Sanchez sounded a little odd after the extremely angsty song. "Wow, that was depressing. Let's have a more cheerful one this time! I think I saw a good one just now..." Rustlerustle. "Oh yeah! This one isn't dedicated to anyone, I just love it. So I guess I'm dedicating it to my own self!" She laughed her throaty laugh. "So here we have I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (lyrics) with Sandi Thom, because it's like, one of my favourite classics. Enjoy!" Lola enjoyed it. In fact, the took the opportunity to sing along in the last refrain. Thankfully she did know how to sing, and had a very lovely voice.

"Ohhh, we have a dedication!" she cheered as she saw the little piece of paper. "So it's for someone called Teazer, from... um, it doesn't say. Secret admirer? Cool!" She giggled a little. "Anyway, the song is At the Beginning (lyrics) with Richard Marx and Donna Lewis. Oh, and there's a message, too..." Lola cleared her throat and read the tiny handwriting. "I don't think it's so scary anymore. Huh. Okay, cryptic." She shrugged, and played the song anyway. Kids in love. What were you gonna do?

When the song was over, Lola was beaming. "Aw, that was adorable! Why can't I have an admirer like that? I have to choose my own songs. Totally unfair." There was a slight pause. "Okay, I'm officially having a contest here. Whoever can make me the prettiest secret admirer card wins some of my extra special hot chocolate! You'll get enough to last you a month. Big hit at parties, too! Just send me a nice card and it's all yours!

"I hope Teazer is happy about her song, anyway, and now I'm going to play another duet. Actually it's me and Sweetpea singing." She laughed. "I guess it's for Mel and Brice, though if I know angel boy correctly, he won't be too happy about it! Don't worry, babe, we all know you're hardcore. I'm going to play this song anyway, and it's Breaking Free (lyrics)!" Totally not from High School Musical, totally not sung by Zac Efron and Vanessa Anne Hudgens.

"Okay, so let's have a song you can dance to, next," she decided afterwards. "Here's one for the kids to go crazy to! Come on and jump around to Heaven Mix (lyrics) with DJ Sammy! Because I'm totally going to."

And she did. Once the beat was starting, Lola removed her headphones and began to jump around in the studio, which resulted in her being slightly out of breath when she returned to the broadcast. "Oh, that was so much fun," she gasped. "God, haven't done that in ages. Okay, let's play something nice and slow so that I can catch my breath again." She flipped through the records and soon found something. "This looks promising. And it goes with my sort of angelic theme I've got going on here, too! Let's listen to Wings (lyrics) with Echo's Children while I calm down."

When Lola spoke again, her voice was back to normal. "That was pretty. I liked that song! Sort of reminded me of someone. Yeah." She paused, and the radio was silent for a few seconds. Then she shook her head and smiled into the microphone. "Anyway. I guess we move on to the next song, yeah? While I was dancing around I found one that I think was played not long ago, but it was just so totally luminous that I have to play it again. Here's Angel With An Attitude (lyrics) with The Ditty Bops. Boo, that song is so totally for you!" She laughed. Lola laughed a lot.

"Speaking of Mel, she's got a birthday coming up soon! Remember where you heard about it first! She'll probably put up flyers when it's time and invite each and everyone to a big birthday bash. I'm going to go ahead and dedicate another song for her. We work out to this one, and it's so cosmic. Here's Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves (lyrics) with Pointer Sisters!"

"I guess that's all for me!" chirped the angel. "I'll play one final song for everyone at Hogwarts. There Can Be Miracles (lyrics) with Michelle Pfeiffer and Sally Dworsky. Just because it's true!" Lola beamed. "Okay, so you can Floo in and wish for your own songs now, if you want, or just chat about my contest. Remember, hot chocolate for a month, to the one sending the prettiest secret admirer card to me, Lola Sanchez! ...Though I guess, if you want the chocolate, you'll have to send me your name as well..." There was a pause. "Okay, send me a card, and your name in an envelope. I promise I won't read your name before I have judged the card!"
