She huffed out a breath and watched the fire in the fireplace jump obediently. She felt so stupid! And - angry. Did he think he could make her into something too? She hadn't detected lies when they were talking but she'd been wrong before. Boy, had she.
A log exploded with a roar, sending sparks onto the hearth and rug, scattering ashes. House elves appeared from nowhere to check the embers now burning black marks onto the floor. Gillian winced. Angry was not good.
But she had to say something to him, so off she went to the Owlery.
Dr. Tam, she wrote,
I didn't realize you were a doctor
I don't need
What do you want from

I remember Carrie only a little. My Sorting was a little chaotic for me. I'm glad she helped you out.
So you're in the House you wanted? Congratulations. I hope that works out well.
Do you know how to get to Ravenclaw House yet? We've got a bar here, and it's got things other than alcohol. Coffee, soda, whatever. Most importantly it's warm. I'll be there this afternoon if you want to touch base.

Thank goodness for house elves. Gillian would be lost forever in the maze of Hogwarts if not for them. She arrived at Ravenclaw, slightly breathless, and wondered how one got in the door.
