Dear Nick,
I understand you've been Sorted into Ravenclaw - my congratulations! It's a good thing the Hat is on the job - I completely failed to cast a vote, although I think Ravenclaw would probably have been my choice as well. I do apologize for letting you down. My only excuse is that I was enjoying our conversation about the 'variety of life-forms' so much.
Do let me know if you'd like to take that exploratory walk around Hogwarts. There is still so much I've not yet seen. (On reflection I am not even certain I ever introduced myself properly. Oh dear, a complete lack of manners all round. You will remember me, if at all, as the scatter-brained blonde woman.)
