The owl itself is entirely non-descript, except for a small splotch of brown above one eye. It carries a note written in an equally non-descript hand.

We hear you have been accepted into Hogwarts as planned. Congratulations on completing the first task of your assignment. Keep up the good work.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is as follows: we have discovered a mole within the school. Your job is to find this man and watch him, but under no circumstances are you to engage him. He is highly dangerous and possesses sensitive information. If provoked he will be a threat to you and us both.
Suspect is of average height, physically fit, with dark hair. According to reports, he has a distinctive mark on his upper left thigh. Find him, watch him, and report his movements back to us. Repeat: do not engage him.
Use this owl, and only this owl, for your communications. It is a direct line to us. If you attempt to communicate with us by any other means, the mission will be compromised and your position will be immediately terminated.
