"I already know the basics, pretty much." Of course, in his life it generally boiled down to 1) carry shotgun, 2) carry cavalry saber, 3) be faster and/or stronger than whatever's coming at you.

Humans were fast, but vampires (even White Court) were faster. That said, she hadn't telegraphed at all, so he wasn't able to do much but dodge out of the way. Not even smoothly enough to pass for human to anyone who knew the limits. "Hey!"

"That's what they all say," Cammy said, still refusing to come anywhere near him. She actually had no idea if that was what vampires all said, but it seemed like something they would.

"Yeah, well... they're lying. I'm really not. It's a... family thing." It was possible that other vampires said that - he'd never heard it though.

"So if they're lying, how do I know that you're not lying?" Cammy asked. Vampires were certainly not one of the things covered in her training for the S.O.S.
