Han Solo, Star Wars (OT & EU)

*Han stumbled slightly, blinking in shock. Spinning, he snatched his trusty DL-44 from the holster, eyeing the room warily. This was definitely not Anoth, nor even Myrkr... for that matter, this place wasn't much like anywhere he'd seen. Well, maybe a little like that temple on Yavin but still, distinct differences... notably the lack of ships ( Read more... )

Yes, the questions are pretty random. This whole place is pretty random. I find the best thing to do is give up on sanity, have a drink, and just go along with it.

You said you have a ship? How do you feel about hitchhikers?

*Han eyes the stranger warily* "Depends, who are you and which side are you on?"

"My name's Ford Prefect, I'm a researcher for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'm also a professor here, but that's more of a hobby than a job." Ford shrugs. He has to think for a moment about what side he's on - it's not a question he's been asked before.

"I'm on my own side."

*Han eyes the man, he didn't much hold with these science types. Well, he didn't much hold with most types except his own, and even those people he didn't trust as far as he could throw them. But the guy seemed nice enough, though he'd certainly never heard of this guide*

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Never heard of it."

*His own side, huh? Now that was definitely something Han could relate to*

"Well, where are you trying to get to?"

Ford was shocked that Han has never heard of the guide. He's used to the Earthlings not knowing, but he was pretty sure this man wasn't from Earth.

"You should get a copy. It's 'the most wholly remarkable book in the known universe.' Or at least that's what the publishers say. It can tell you just about anything you want to know about the galaxy - most importantly how to see the wonders of the universe for 30 Altarian dollars a day. Oh, and it has Don't Panic written on the cover." Ford tended to ramble when he started to talk about the guide.

"Actually, I'm not trying to get anywhere at the moment." Zark, had those words really just come out of his mouth? "I just wanted to know if you were the sort of captain who'd pick up a hitchhiker or the sort who would throw someone out the airlock. Sort of a personality test."

*Han blinked* "Altarian?" *He'd heard of, and even interacted with, the majority of the races in the galaxy and Han was pretty damn positive that "Altarian" wasn't one of them* "Umm.. I've heard of the Altorians... but that's the Avogwi and Nuiwits... no one race actually called that. Though, the "Don't Panic" sentiment is probably a good one."

*Han nods thoughtfully, considering the question. After a moment he shrugs slightly* "Well, I guess that'd all depend on if I was going in the same direction and if you were going to try to shoot me. Also if there'd be any compensation involved..."

"Don't Panic is pretty good advice no matter what dimension you're in." Huh. He must be from a different time. Or a different galaxy. That sort of thing happened a lot around here.

"That's a good enough answer. I don't shoot people who offer me rides. In fact, I don't shoot anyone. Usually I'm the one being shot at, but that's just bad luck." Ford shrugs. It wasn't really bad luck, more like bad company. Something about Zaphod seemed to encourage people's homicidal tendencies.

"Do you have a house preference? Most captains seem to end up in Gryffindor, but I think you'd do well in Slytherin too."

*Han nods, he can definitely relate to the being shot at. Though, he had to admit, generally he probably deserved it.* "House preference? Um, Gryffindor sounded good. But whatever, as long as Leia and I end up in the same one, she'll kill me otherwise."

"Gryffindor then. I'll be sure to give the same vote to Leia."
