a day at the lake.

no not a poem, prose or essay. Just a statement.
And its not really a day at the lake, so much as some time spent at the lakeside.

Woke up this morning, did my papers, and then had no idea what to do with my day. couldn't focus on house work, didn't want to stay inside. So, slipped on my new leather socks that arrived yesterday. (sic note further on about the socks.) and my ankle cuffs (again leather) and went down town.  First to drop off the invoice for the airconditioner that arrived in the mail, (I should be able to get the cost covered since my rent isn't the max shelter allowance yet thanks to the subsidy. Then to just wander around aimlessly in the sunshine.

Well, in my wanderings I decided to go to the lake. Peterborough, has a lake of sorts and a river that runs through the center of town. The lake is more like just an oversized esturairy but still, its open body of water several hundred feet across with  what used to be a large majestic water fountain that would shoot 4-500feet high or higher..... well, over the past 20 years, the cemetary complained the water spray was eroding the headstones. The homeowners on the street that face the water started complaining that it was eroding the stone and brick work on the front of their homes. and so, council aquiesed and the fountains lucky to shoot 50feet into the air now.   Honestly, if they don't put it back to the full sized fountain soon, they may as well just take the damn thing out for all the majesty and beauty it brings to the area anymore.

so anyways, I'm here at the lake side, sitting at a picnic tablein the shade, watching a bike cope ride past... wishing I could have gotten a better look at his face, see if he's one I'd like to bed, or just say Hello to. lol Yes, I'm feeling a little randy and could use some companionship right now... anything from snuggles while the sun passes through the sky, on to full on out right raunchy porn sex. whatever that might end up being... (hopefully involving leather, chains, locks, and a few things I darecen't mention in an uncensored journal entry. lol)

Oh, the cruise boats coming by... talk about another pitiful tourist attraction that used to BE something, and is now just a pitiful shadow of what it used to be.   The tour used to include all sorts of useful historical and statistical data about riverside attractions.... but between the tour operator cutting back the spoken content, the river side attractions and historical buildings are no longer there.  New owners have torn down the buildings, Fires have claimed some, vandalism others... or in a few cases the existing owners like CPRail have chosen not to spend the money to 'upkeep' and maintain the property leaving a rusting hulk across the waterways.  Oh well, what can you do. time passes, and things change no matter how one tries to keep things the same.   Either nature takes its course and corrodes the building material, social and cultural tastes change and no longer suit the purpose of the structure/event and your left with nothing more then history, that will be as forgotten as yesterday's visit to the toilet., and probably about as meaningfull as well.

well my battery's just about to die on the phone and there's no free power plugs around to plug into to charge it. so I better sign off and conserve what's left of the power in my phone until I can get somewhere to charge it again. (I need to get one of those solar cells to carry with me for times like this.. hook it up to the phone to charge while I'm sitting here typing away. lol :) ) (*wonder how much one will cost me, and if it'll have enough capacity to do what I need it to do without mehaving to buy a whole lot of other things... or if it'll just be easier to buy a "battery booster" from Canadian Tire and use it?))

oh well, the drunks look like their packing up to head back to the mission I guess??? dunno, don't really care, they look like their well enough off that they have things under control for their own lives, and that's what matters.
