so today was definitely a very good start to the weekend. I got that actual "official" job offer for JetBlue (still contingent upon my physical abilities test but I passed the background test, the drug test, and the fingerprint test (all of which I knew I would pass given i dont do recreational drugs and the only drug that would show up in a drug test I have had a prescription for the last 2 years and i've never been arrested for anything). Today I got all of my information for my training course. I fly out to Orlando on Sept 12th and will be there until Sept 27th.

So I started to make arrangements for my trip - I need to figure out how I am getting my cats back to Michigan, but my mom has already agreed to take care of them for the month I will be gone, which trust me is going to be the toughest part about this job training - i have never been apart for my boys for more than a week tops, so 3-4 weeks is going to be excruciating, especially given that my little Brody has serious separation anxiety - but thats what a cat who had 4 homes before the age of one develops - the cat wont even leave my door jam area to venture out into the hall because he's scared that he will lose track of his home - the only bright sides are 1. he is going to a house he's been to twice before (but he is constantly my shadow when I'm at my mom's, and 2. he will be with Mulligan so at least his brother will be with him). I most likely wont be able to get them as soon as I get back from Orlando because as soon as I get back i have 3-5 full days of on the job training at O'Hare, so there wont be much down time to go pick them back up until my first day off.

But good things: training is paid, plus, they pay for hotel, airfare, and provide travel accommodations to and from the training center, plus they provide a continental breakfast every day, and reimburse for up to $38 for food (except alcohol) for each day. So although I have to pay for food ahead of time, I get every penny back. And my dad had already agreed to front me the money to cover that since he is going to get it all back anyways.

Then tonight I sat down with my boss and told him that I got a part-time job offer that I REALLY wanted to take, but I still wanted to work for him (JetBlue is part-time for the first 6 months - its kind of like a probational period requirement) and explained to him that the only hiccup in it was that I would need 3 weeks off for training in Florida, and he was very very supportive and gave me the OK. I mean I do really like various aspects of my current job (i LOVE my coworkers, I have a supportive boss who gives me days off even with only a day of notice, and I like that fact that my current job is forcing me to build self-confidence), and now knowing that my boss is willing to let me take 3 entire weeks off and will be willing to work with me once I get my JetBlue schedule and accommodate it to an extent (i need to get something close to regular so that I'm not changing on him each week as to what days I can and cannot work), and as long as I am not taking days off last minute - is just another plus for this job. I do actually hate what I do and do hate the fact that this job alone is about 60 hours a week (i work 5 days a week for 11 hours, and work one day a week for 5 hours), but the positives more than outweigh the negatives. Which is why I decided to approach him for the change instead of outright putting in notice that I was quitting. My team leader, Milan, probably my favorite person at the job by far - which is why him being my leader/trainer is a good thing, was very supportive as well - I only told him because I wanted him to know that I would still in fact be alive when I disappeared for 3 weeks, and he just told me he was jealous that I was going to Florida haha.

So yup today was a good day.
